How the $1,000 Bonus Code Works

Making Your First Bet

Alright, time to make that first bet. You want to put your entire deposit on your first wager. It's the optimal way to do it. You also want to put your free bets and risk-free bets on longshots, usually in the +300 to +500 range. But we'll use Friday's bowl game as an example.

Say you put your $200 deposit all on Troy moneyline at +130 against UTSA.

• If Troy wins, you pocket $260, and keep the original $200.
• If Troy doesn't win, you lose $200 in cash, but get $200 back in free bets.

OK, so what are free bets? We'll cover that next.

Using Free Bets

If you lose your first bet, you'll get free bets and you'll need to use them pretty quickly.

Here's how free bets work. It's like BetMGM is spotting you the bet, and you keep the winnings if it wins.

If you lose that first Troy bet, you'll get $200 back in free bets. You then put it all on Florida moneyline against Oregon State on Saturday.

• If Florida wins, you'll pocket $600 but don't keep the $200 in free bets. You'll now have $600 cash in your account off a $200 deposit for $400 in total profit.
• If Florida loses, your free bets are gone, and the promo is over.

That's why these offers aren't truly risk-free — you can lose your whole deposit depending on how your bets go.

How Does Bonus Code ACTIONYARD Work?

This offer is what we call a $200 bet/get offer. It's only available in Maryland, Illinois, Louisiana and Kansas.

• Just bet $10 on the UTSA-Troy
• If the team you're betting throws for 1+ yard, you get $200 in free bets.

Free bets, if you didn't read the section above, are almost like bets on the house. You keep the winnings, but you don't keep the free bet itself.

BetMGM will return your $200 in four, $50 free bets. They can be used on any event or sport, with a few small restrictions.

The free bets work the same way we described above — you keep the winnings, but not the initial bet.

So using that same Florida example, you'd get $600 if they win, but you don't keep the original $200.
