- BlackJack Fletcher has a play for tonight's Hamilton Tiger Cats (-7) at Montreal Alouettes (7:30 p.m. ET) matchup that includes Johnny Manziel's return to professional football.
- BlackJack is also eyeing value bets in tonight's Braves-Mets (7:10 p.m.) and Astros-Dodgers (10:10) games.
It's Friday, baby, and it's time to start the weekend with a bang. We've got football back in our lives for the first time since February and lots of action to pick from tonight, but there are some real standouts on the card to jump on … and jump on quick. So, let's not waste time, let's not squander the opportunities afforded us, let's put this thing in drive and drop the pedal to the floor, brother.
WINNERS
Atlanta Braves at New York Mets (-145)
7:10 p.m. ET

This is a simple bet and it's one I've made almost all season long. When Jacob deGrom (pictured above) is on the mound, you bet the first-five innings under. It's usually 3.5 like it is today, but it is no matter. Make the bet and watch as he twirls yet another gem, and the Mets offense struggles once more. This is as close to an auto-bet as I have in baseball.
THE PICK: First-five innings (Under 3.5)

Hamilton Tiger-Cats (-7) at Montreal Alouettes
7:30 p.m. ET

This game marks the return of Johnny Manziel (pictured above) as a starting quarterback in a competitive football game. He faces off against his former teammates in his first ever CFL start. Everyone is going to be tempted to bet the Al's here because of Johnny Football, but the reality is Montreal is a very bad team. They have the worst defense in the CFL and are 1-5 on the season. Hamilton has struggled lately, losing their last three, and know they need this one to right the ship. Quarterback Jeremiah Masoli has played so well that Manziel couldn't get time on the field for the Ti-Cats.
THE PICK: Hamilton Tiger-Cats (-7)
Houston Astros (-108) at Los Angeles Dodgers
10:10 p.m. ET
Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports
The ability to grab Justin Verlander (pictured above) at this price is too tempting to pass up. Sure, the Astros are a little banged up and they've been inconsistent lately.

The Dodgers have picked up the pace since the trade deadline and did score 21 runs last night. Still, Verlander is having one of the best seasons of his career and pitches well under pressure. Give me Verlander and the Astros at this very short price.
THE PICK: Houston Astros (-108)
Let's enjoy the weekend and cash some tickets, baby.
