Johnny Manziel’s Return: All the Props You Can Bet article feature image
  • Johnny Manziel will make his CFL debut on Friday night for the Montreal Alouettes against the team that traded him earlier this season, the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.
  • Manziel and the Alouettes are 7-point home underdogs against Hamilton, but there are plenty of Manziel-specific props available, as well.
  • He's a big favorite to throw at least one interception, something he did in five of his eight NFL starts.

One night after the country got its first taste of football in almost six months with the Hall of Fame game between the Chicago Bears and Baltimore Ravens, fans now get the main course.

That's right: Johnny Manziel making his first real start on a football field in almost three full years.

Granted, the start is in the CFL for the Montreal Alouettes, but Manziel is facing his former team (the Hamilton Tiger-Cats) after getting traded — and its bleeping August. Give me football!

BetOnline, an offshore sportsbook, has released four Manziel-related prop bets on how Manziel will fare tonight against.

Let's dive into the props and provide a little background on each.

The Prop: 1.5 Total Touchdowns

The Odds: Over: +120 | Under: -140

In Manziel's career as an NFL starter (eight games), he only accumulated more than 1.5 total touchdowns in one start. That came in the third start of his career against the Tennessee Titans, when he threw two touchdowns. It was one of two career NFL victories for Manziel.

The Prop: 0.5 Interceptions

The Odds: Over: -180 | Under: +160

Manziel had at least one interception in five of his eight NFL starts. He threw multiple picks just once.

The Prop: 249.5 Passing Yards

The Odds: Over: -110 | Under: -110

Passing yards in the CFL are really apples to oranges when trying to compare with the NFL, but Manziel only eclipsed 250 passing yards in two of his eight NFL starts. Johnny Football is taking over an Alouettes offense that's averaging the second-fewest passing yards in the CFL (223.2 yards per game).

The Prop: 27.5 Rushing Yards

The Odds: Over: -110 | Under: -110

Just like with the passing yards proposition, Manziel rushed for more than 27.5 yards in two of his eight NFL starts, having four rushing attempts or more in four of those games. In the CFL this season, three quarterbacks currently have more than 100 rushing yards, including Manziel's former Tiger-Cat teammate, Jeremiah Masoli.
