  • We held our first ever prop contest this past Friday for the Tiger-Phil showdown at Shadow Creek.
  • Korey Ward of Cincinnati won $1,000 by correctly answering all 10 questions. The next-best participants answered only eight of the 10 questions.
  • We contacted Korey to find out more about his gambling life.

On Black Friday, we at The Action Network unveiled our very first prop contest just in time for the Tiger-Phil $9 million showdown.

Users could enter for free and answer a number of props for a chance at the $1,000 prize.

If you were one of the 5,000+ who played, you may have noticed the leaderboard once the day was done.

Nice try, Charlie L. Good effort, Darren S. It's too bad that Korey W absolutely wiped the floor with you.

Korey Ward of Cincinnati correctly answered all 10 props offered, which included four two-choice questions, four three-choice questions, and two four-choice questions.

The odds of pulling that off? A 1-in-21,588 chance.

He got an 11th point for nailing the tiebreaker, as well.

For Ward's efforts, he's $1,000 richer. A fella can buy a lot of Skyline Chili with an extra grand in his pocket.

Given Korey's ridiculous odds of having a perfect entry, we wanted to hear from the man himself to find out how he got into betting and if this was his biggest score ever.

Q: How long have you been gambling and how did you get into it?

A: "I first got into gambling via daily fantasy sports back in 2015."

Q: Are you a big golf fan or were you just playing for a chance at the prize?

A: "I am a very big golf fan and Tiger and Phil fan so I was always going to be tuned into The Match."

Q: Would you consider yourself more of a DFS guy than a traditional bettor?

A: "I have switched off of DFS due to the rake changes and pricing algo changes that they have made (that in my opinion have taken a lot of the edge away).

NBA is the sport I did the most with regarding DFS and currently I play a ton of NBA player props and make plays on games, as well. But I also will do things with NFL, PGA, CFB and rarely some CBB."

Is this your biggest win ever?

"No, I have had quite a few DFS scores higher, but it certainly is nice to get this win as well!"

Q: Did you make any bets on "The Match"?

A: "I did make quite a few bets on 'The Match' including Phil to win, Phil to be first to go 1-up, Phil to be leading after nine, Phil to hit the first fairway, Phil longest drive on holes 3, 4 and 7 and Tiger longest drive on 16."

Looks like he smashed those, too. Congrats on a massive Black Friday, Korey.
