Wyndham Championship: Simpson vaults to top of leaderboard, joins Stenson as favorite article feature image
Webb Simpson jumped to the top of the leaderboard after his second solid round of the tournament. Simpson moved into the lead along with Ryan Armour at 13-under, one shot ahead of co-favorite Henrik Stenson.

Stenson and Simpson were two of the top three in betting odds prior to the tournament, so to see them as the favorites heading into the weekend shouldn't come as too much of a surprise.

They haven't done much to separate themselves though with 18 players still within five shots heading into moving day.

Unfortunately, I didn't tab too many within striking distance. Both Russell Knox and Ryan Moore came in at 8-under but will need a really good weekend to play a factor.

The best play near the top so far is Vaughn Taylor at 11-under, who has a five shot advantage on his top 20 play at +750. JJ Spaun also made the cut on the number and is a few shots out of a top 20 at 7/1.

Luckily, Friday's matchup plays went as well as could be expected and will lessen the blow of a poor start at the top. Bill Haas came back with the hot round we were looking for, shooting a 64 to beat Stenson and Kevin Kisner at +350.

Kevin Streelman also cashed at +140 for two units by shooting 1-under and beating Dicky Pride and Tag Ridings by a shot.

We also got an early cash on the lone full tournament play with Billy Horschel beating Danny Lee at -115 for two units. Horschel is at 3-under after two rounds, while Lee missed the cut at 1-over.

Haas, Streelman and Horschel combined to net 8.3 units. Couple that with the .25 unit win on Thursday with Chez Reavie leaves us up 8.55 units on the matchups for the week.

I'll have one matchup parlay for Saturday: Ryan Moore over Rick Lamb and Webb Simpson over Ryan Armour.
Moore and Simpson have been playing really well this week and are historically good on this course. With no pressure, they should be able to get a round in the 60s. Lamb and Armour are both needing high finishes to lock up their tour card and have struggled to maintain their position on the weekend all season.

Saturday's Play

Moore/Simpson over Lamb/Armour +102 (1)
