- The Brooklyn Nets gave up 149 points in a regulation loss the last time they took the floor, and oddsmakers are expecting another high-scoring Brooklyn matchup against the Los Angeles Clippers tonight.
- Sharps have certainly taken notice of the high total, betting it down from the opening number.
- Danny Donahue breaks down what that means for this game below.
NBA Odds: Clippers vs. Nets

Nets Odds | +1.5 |

A few years back, an NBA total eclipsing the 240-point mark would've been big news — well, at least in the betting world. In fact, from 2005 through 2016, it happened only five times.
Since then, it's happened … 44 times. And I'd imagine the 2021 Nets will help that count quite a bit themselves over the next few months.
In their first game following a 149-146 loss in regulation, the Nets will host the Clippers tonight, and the earliest books to market initially set the total up at 245.5.
Sharps, however, have had a bit to say about that.

NBA Sharp Betting Pick: Clippers vs. Nets
The pros have been the main reason for this number falling, and history is on the under's side as well.
Sharp Action
As you might expect, most bettors have been happy to root for offense in this matchup. Seventy-one percent of bets on the total, to be exact, have landed on the over, which, when paired with the downward movement, should tell you something about the type of bettors on the other side.
Three Bet Signals from Action Labs have confirmed the sharp indication by revealing three instances of market-wide movement caused specifically by sharp action — two at 243.5 and one at 243 — on the under.

PRO Systems
And while it may sound counterintuitive, the Nets' scoring aptitude has actually led to an overvaluation of the over, historically speaking.
Our Unders on Good Home Over Team PRO System has returned a 57% win rate (to the under) on a sample of more than 900 games since 2005.
