- The Washington Wizards have gotten blown out in their last three matchups, making them an easy fade tonight against Atlanta, right?
- Well, not so fast, according to our NBA PRO Report...
NBA Odds: Hawks vs. Wizards
|PRO Projection||ATL -2.5|
|Time||7 p.m. ET|
The Wizards have lost their past three games by 20, 19 and 18 points, respectively, but they’re just 3.5-point underdogs tonight. That hasn’t scared away sharp bettors, though, at least according to our PRO Report.
NBA Sharp Betting Pick: Hawks vs. Wizards
This spread opened at 4.5, and while only 45% of bettors have taken the points with the Wizards, the number has shrunk to 3.5. That reverse line movement should be enough to hint at the sharp side on its own, but Action Labs confirms the indication with four Bet Signals.
The signals — ranging from +5 to +6, in this case — are triggered by market movement that’s caused specifically by sharp action.
Sharp Action edge: Wizards
Also pointing toward a sharp backing of the Wiz, the 45% of Washington bettors have generated 75% of the money that’s hit the spread. Of course, that could regress a bit as tip-off approaches, but for now it tells us that the Wizards are drawing much bigger bets — the ones more likely to be made by sharps.
Big Money edge: Wizards
And while it’s certainly worth noting how sharps are betting this game, it’s even more useful to know that bets drawing this sort of action have been profitable in the past.
Because of the current bet-vs.-money split, the over fits into our NBA Tickets vs. Money PRO System, which has returned a 55% win rate on a sample of more than 600 games since 2015 (when we began collecting money percentage data).
