Monday’s Best NBA Player Props: Betting Tristan Thompson Rebounds, More

Prop bets can be a great way to get action on a game. Bookmakers don’t have to worry about taking a lot of action on them, so there isn’t as great an incentive to post a competitive line.

As a result, props can be some of the most exploitable bets on the board.

These props can become downright unfair when you combine them with our FantasyLabs Player Prop tool.

Monday’s best props focus on four of the slate’s seven games:

• Oklahoma City Thunder at Detroit Pistons: 7 p.m. ET
• Washington Wizards at New York Knicks: 7:30 p.m. ET
• Golden State Warriors at Atlanta Hawks: 7:30 p.m. ET
• Cleveland Cavaliers at Brooklyn Nets: 7:30 p.m. ET

Let’s dive right in.

Hawks SF Taurean Prince

The Pick: Under 15.5 points (-105)

Prince started the year hot for the Hawks, but his role has decreased as the season has progressed. He’s played 25.5 minutes or less in four of his past six games, and he’s failed to eclipse the 15.5-point barrier in each of those contests.

He’s currently projected for just 25.3 minutes in the FantasyLabs NBA Models, and it’s hard to see him hitting the over in such limited playing time.

The Hawks will also be getting Jeremy Lin back tonight, so it’s possible that Prince could have an even smaller workload than expected. I’d play this up to -150.

Wizards F Kelly Oubre

The Pick: Under 12 points (-114)

The Wizards are a disaster right now, and Oubre appears to be the latest scapegoat. He was replaced in the starting lineup by Tomas Satoransky and ultimately saw just 21.5 minutes of playing time off the bench.

There’s a chance he could see a few additional minutes if Otto Porter misses today’s contest, but Porter was upgraded to questionable after initially being listed as out. If Porter plays, Oubre seems pretty locked in to a reserve role, which will hurt his scoring chances even in a good matchup vs. the Knicks.

Oubre has scored 12 points or fewer in four of his past five contests and is currently projected for just 21 minutes on today’s slate. I like the under up to -160 and would play it at 11.5 as well.

Pistons C Andre Drummond

The Pick: Over 17.5 points (-105)

The over on Drummond’s scoring prop has been very kind to me this season, and I’m going back to the well tonight vs. the Thunder.

They’re a tough matchup, currently ranking first in the league in defensive efficiency, but the line still seems low given Drummond’s production. He’s scored at least 18 points in 13 of his first 20 games, so I like his chances of going over if he can stay out of foul trouble.

I think this line should be closer to 18.5 points, so I think we’re getting some value here. Still, I wouldn’t play it at greater than -125.

Cavaliers C Tristan Thompson

The Pick: Over 13.5 rebounds (-125)

This is a huge line to take the over on, but I still think it’s a bit low for Thompson on today’s slate.

He’s averaged 13.5 rebounds per 36 minutes this season, and he’s coming off close to 40 minutes in his most recent contest. He’s in an elite spot today vs. the Brooklyn Nets, who have given up monster rebound games in bunches this season.

They’ve already allowed eight opponents to record at least 15 rebounds in a game this season, and Thompson pulled down 11 rebounds in just 23.6 minutes in his first meeting vs. the Nets this year.

It can be scary to play the over on big numbers, but this is the highest-rated prop of the day in the FantasyLabs Player Prop tool. I’d play it up to -160.
