No. 13 ranked Arkansas will visit No. 16 ranked Ole Miss for a Saturday noon slate in the Southeastern Conference.
This rivalry dates all the way back to 1908 and the two teams have played each other annually since 1981.
While Arkansas has controlled the recent history of the rivalry, Ole Miss did pull off back-to-back wins in 2018 and 2019.
The Razorbacks opened as 6.5-point underdogs at. -110 juice, with that vig moving to -105 on Monday.
Ole Miss is given the extra respect by virtue of being at home and because of its perceived personnel advantages.
The Rebels were projected to finish two spots higher in the SEC West than the Razorbacks during the conference's preseason media rankings.
Arkansas were also given a win total of just 5.5 heading into the season, a mark that they're on pace to easily clear.
Ole Miss, by comparison, were given a preseason win total of 7.5.
Arkansas Is Perhaps The SEC's Biggest Early Season Surprise
Arkansas have decidedly outperformed projections this season. They opened the season by ripping off four straight victories, including ones over then-No. 15 ranked Texas and then-No. 7 ranked Texas A&M.
Still, those teams have turned out to be worse than expected, and Arkansas is coming off of a debilitating 37-0 shutout loss to No. 2-ranked Georgia. Georgia might just be that much better than the rest of the competition, though.
While Arkansas should clear their preseason win total with ease, there is a chance they tumble out of the rankings soon. After this tilt in Mississippi, they host No. 18 ranked Auburn in a matchup Arkansas has won just once since 2012.
They then play two winnable home games against Arkansas-Pine Bluff and Mississippi State before facing LSU and Alabama on the road.
With losses against Auburn, LSU and Alabama, the Razorbacks would need to win its three other games to become bowl eligible.
Arkansas rank 19th in the country and fifth in the SEC in total rush yards per game — a focal point of their offense. They average over 200 yards per game on the ground as opposed to roughly 175 per game in the air.
Ole Miss: Is Lane Kiffin For Real?
Ole Miss is coming off of a similar blowout loss against SEC royalty.
The Rebels went down as much as 35-0 to Alabama before scoring three garbage time touchdowns to make the final score 42-21. It was a pure Nick Saban masterclass.
The Rebels had previously ripped off dominant wins over Tulane, Austin Peay and Louisville to get as high as No. 12 in the AP Poll.
The Lane Kiffin-led squad have one of the higher-flying offenses in the nation, led by Heisman candidate Matt Corral.
Corral had been the Heisman favorite heading into Ole Miss' bout with Alabama. The quarterback is now second-best favorite behind the Tide's Bryce Young.
The Rebels are 15th in the nation in passing yards with about 310 yards per game, a mark that's good for second in the SEC behind LSU.
Even then, they accumulate yards on the ground, too. Despite putting up about 140 yards more per game than Arkansas does in the air, Ole Miss puts up more on the ground, too. The Rebels rank 18th in the country and fourth in the SEC with 212.7 rushing yards per game so far this season.
