MLB Best Bets for 4th of July Weekend

Some of the best pitchers in baseball are scheduled to pitch during 4th of July weekend, and you can bet on any of them now. Let's check out my MLB best bets by day across the weekend to give you some excellent options to bet using the top new user sportsbook promos.

MLB Best Bets for July 4

The three most notable matchups on 4th of July include a 2017 World Series rematch (Astros vs. Dodgers), one of the most historic rivalries in the sport (Cardinals vs. Cubs), and the Subway Series (Yankees vs. Mets). Here are some of my best bets for these games.

  • Astros vs. Dodgers Prediction: Shohei Ohtani to Hit a Home Run (+225)

Ohtani is obviously one of, if not the best player in MLB and he seems like a slam-dunk pick to hit a home run in this matchup that should bring plenty of intensity.

  • Cardinals vs. Cubs Prediction: Miles Mikolas Under 4.5 Strikeouts (-110)

Mikolas boasts one of the lowest strikeout rates in MLB and the Cubs are a team that makes plenty of contact. While 4.5 strikeouts is a low bar to clear, Mikolas should have a hard time reaching this threshold.

  • Yankees vs. Mets Prediction: Aaron Judge to Hit a Home Run (+180)

Judge has amassed a whopping 30 home runs before the All-Star break and is in the midst of one of the best offensive seasons in MLB history. Bet on Judge to add to his gaudy homer total against the cross-town rival New York Mets.

MLB Best Bets for July 5

Outside of the three top matchups above, there are still some other excellent games to bet on this Saturday. This includes two teams in the AL Wild Card hunt (Angels vs. Blue Jays), two franchises experiencing a rebirth (Red Sox vs. Nationals), and the two worst teams in MLB (White Sox vs. Rockies).

  • Angels vs. Blue Jays Prediction: Vladimir Guerrero Jr. to Hit a Home Run (+400)

Guerrero Jr. has been finding his power stroke after a slow start and I like his chances of continuing the trend against a weak Angels pitching staff that includes a bottom-5 bullpen.

  • Red Sox vs. Nationals Prediction: James Wood to Record 2+ Hits (+260)

Wood has taken MLB by storm in his sophomore season and has been red-hot lately. Bet on Wood to notch a couple of hits against Boston on Saturday.

  • White Sox vs. Rockies Prediction: Jonathan Cannon Over 4.5 Strikeouts (-110)

While it might not be one of the most fun matchups in the league, considering Chicago and Colorado have combined for just shy of 50 wins on the year, this game has some value from a betting perspective. Back Cannon to record more than 4.5 strikeouts against the Rockies, who have been struggling at the plate for weeks.

MLB Best Bets for July 6

Let's take a look at some of the other matchups outside of those above to place my MLB best bets on. This includes Rays vs. Twins, Reds vs. Phillies, and Tigers vs. Guardians.

  • Rays vs. Twins Prediction: Joe Ryan Over 6.5 Strikeouts (-115)

Ryan has been of the best pitchers in the American League this year with a 2.75 ERA and his strikeout rate is holding steady at over a strikeout per inning. I like Ryan's chances of eclipsing 6.5 strikeouts against the team he was drafted by.

  • Reds vs. Phillies Prediction: Zack Wheeler to Allow Under 1.5 Earned Runs (+110)

Speaking of top pitchers, Wheeler stands as the lone competition to Paul Skenes for the NL Cy Young Award at the moment. Wheeler is rolling right now and I believe he dominates a struggling Reds lineup in this one.

  • Tigers vs. Guardians Prediction: Riley Greene to Hit a Home Run (+425)

Greene has had a huge power surge this past week, including a multi-homer game on July 2. Back Greene to go deep against the Guardians in this battle between AL Central foes.
