  • With Packers wide receivers Davante Adam and Allen Lazard set to miss Thursday Night Football, what should fantasy football managers expect from their teammates?

The Green Bay Packers offense will look a little different on Thursday night against the Arizona Cardinals with top receivers Davante Adams and Allen Lazard on the COVID/Reserve list.

That opens up more opportunities for players lower in the pecking order like WR Randall Cobb and running back A.J. Dillon. But how much should fantasy football managers trust them in bigger roles?

That will be a tough decision facing managers on Thursday. In theory, the ceiling is high for Aaron Rodgers' top targets in a game with a betting total of 50.5 (check real-time NFL odds here). Factor in that the Packers are now 6.5-point underdogs, and it's easy to see a game script of Rodgers and Co. trying to keep pace by being aggressive offensively.

Aaron Jones is still the top fantasy target for Rodgers, coming in as RB9 on The Action Network's fantasy football consensus rankings. There's no questioning his status in your lineup, but what about Cobb and Dillon?

Cobb comes in as WR37 and Dillon is RB37. Cobb is ahead of Julio Jones, Tyler Boyd and Robby Anderson. Dillon slides in above J.D. McKissic, Devontae Booker and Samaje Perine.

"The Packers will likely go with an RB-centric game plan on a short week to compensate for the absence of Adams, which is great for Aaron Jones and makes AJ Dillon a high-end RB3/flex play," Action Network fantasy analyst Chris Raybon said this week. "Cobb played 91% of the snaps last week and dropped a 5/60/1 line on six targets, so he’s in the low-end WR3 mix as well."
