Americans love their NFL teams. The level of time, attention, money, and emotional capital spent on an NFL franchise by its fans is nearly immeasurable. The NFL is composed of 32 teams split between two conferences and eight divisions. This means that there are a lot of passionate fanbases spread throughout the country. Teams square off against their divisional foes twice each year, creating some fierce rivalries throughout the league. Recent changes to the NFL season have been adopted to extend the season to 17 games as well as to include more teams in the Wild Card Round of the playoffs. These changes allow fans to continue their season-long passion a little longer with increased hopes of their team making a playoff run. Here's how the NFL team alignment currently breaks down.

American Football Conference

The American Football Conference (AFC) has won 26 total Super Bowls throughout the NFL history. The Cincinnati Bengals are the current AFC Champions, but fell to the Los Angeles Rams in Super Bowl LVI in the 2021-22 season. The Buffalo Bills and Kansas City Chiefs enter the offseason as the odds-on favorites to win the AFC in 2022-23, but the Bengals loom close behind.

The Rams are the early favorites to win the NFC once again, but the Packers and 49ers are hot on their heels heading into the NFL Draft.
