  • There are eight possible matchups for the AFC and NFC Conference Championships -- the next round of the NFL playoffs.
  • With eight teams vying for a chance to advance, we break down the various scenarios to watch during the Divisional Round.

The NFL playoff bracket is a mirror entering the divisional round with four teams left in each conference.

Both conferences will pit No. 1 vs. No 6 and No. 2 vs. No. 5 this weekend. The playoff scenarios are easier to figure out than last week, but home field is still up for grabs depending on the winners.

Let's break down the possibilities for conference championship games based on what happens Saturday and Sunday.

NFC Playoff Scenarios

The Packers are favored over the Rams on Saturday, and should Green Bay hold serve it will host a home playoff game next week no matter the opponent.

If the Rams pull off another upset, they'll still be on the road as the lower seed to either Tampa Bay or New Orleans.

The only way either Tampa Bay or New Orleans hosts a playoff game in the NFC title game is if Green Bay loses to Jared Goff and Co.

Bettors are backing Tom Brady's Bucs over the Rams for favorite underdog of the week in the NFC. Tampa Bay is getting 40% of moneyline bets against New Orleans; Los Angeles is getting 37% of bets against Green Bay.

AFC Playoff Scenarios

Can the Browns pull off a second consecutive playoff upset?

That's what it will take for the road to the Super Bowl to go somewhere other than Kansas City.

The Chiefs will host the AFC Championship game with a win. As the No. 6 seed, the Browns are road warriors again if they beat Kansas City.

The Bills are home again this week against the Ravens Saturday night. Either Buffalo or Baltimore would host Cleveland, otherwise either winner travels to Kansas City.
