  • BlackJack Fletcher is all over Friday's diverse betting card, with two MLB picks and a late-night college football play.
  • He's riding Jacob DeGrom in a great spot and has a good feeling on USC-Washington State.

We have an interesting card of games ahead of us today, team. We have a full slate of baseball games, with some college football sprinkled in.

But this isn't boring college football. This is good stuff tonight. We have some competitive games involving UCF, FAU, Penn State and USC.

So the question is, what is our plan of attack? What are we going to do to assure victory? What are we going to play and win?

Well wait no more friends, here we go.

New York Mets (-143) at Washington Nationals

Neither of these teams has anything left to play for this season, as both fell short of expectations. The Mets, however, do have Cy Young contender Jacob deGrom on the mound tonight.

When deGrom pitches, we always look at the first five innings under. Those totals have been at 3.5 runs for the last several months, but today we get a gift at 4.5 and we're all over it.

Look for deGrom to finish his season strong.

The pick: First 5 Innings Under 4.5

Philadelphia Phillies at Atlanta Braves (-135)

The Braves are cruising toward the NL East finish line ahead of the pack, surprisingly. They seem to be a year ahead of schedule, but that is just fine with them.

The Phillies have also had a nice year, but will fall short in all likelihood. They are stumbling a bit down the stretch as they've gone 4-6 in their last 10 and send out the unreliable Nick Pivetta this evening in Atlanta.

I look for Julio Teheran and the Braves to get the win at home tonight and continue to shrink their magic number to clinch the division.

The pick: Braves ML

Washington State at USC (-4.5)

The Trojans have certainly had their issues to start this season, but some of that was expected in what is a rebuilding year for USC.

Washington State and head coach Mike Leach are 3-0 but have played the likes of Wyoming, San Jose State and Eastern Washington.

Tonight the Cougars travel to Los Angeles to face a Trojans team that has the benefit of having played significantly better competition in Stanford and Texas.

I think JT Daniels and the Trojans put that experience to good use and grab the win at the Coliseum tonight.

The pick: USC -4.5

All right, let's cash some tickets, baby!
