MVP awards are hard to come by in any league, but you could argue that baseball is the hardest of them all. There are so many stats to consider for hitters, from batting average, on base percentage, slugging percentage, home runs and more ... and that's just on offense.
There are some familiar names at the top of the list, but there's also value to be found further down the odds board. While the current favorites are some of the biggest stars in the game, baseball is a long season and there's plenty of time for a longshot to play his way into contention.
Who are the favorites to win AL MVP?
1. Aaron Judge (-420)
Judge was the leader in the market until July 14, when Ohtani overtook the Yankees' slugger. That didn't last long, though, as a walk-off home run against the Royals put the star back in front of the market. Judge has amassed 39 home runs and collected 83 RBIs. In normal seasons, Judge would be an even bigger favorite to win the MVP, but with Ohtani putting together another stellar season, this one could come down to the wire.
2. Shohei Ohtani (+266)
The Angels' ace and star hitter is having another phenomenal season and he's now the second-favorite to secure a second consecutive MVP award. He's looking to become the first player to win back-to-back MVP honors since Miguel Cabrera achieved the feat in the 2012-13 seasons. Ohtani would be the first pitcher to do so since Hal Newhouser in the 1944-45 seasons. His resume is pretty staggering, with the a top-10 WAR spot in pitching and a top-100 WAR spot in hitting as well as 19 home runs and 56 RBIs. It wouldn't be a surprise to see this man make history.
With the two stars claiming the top spots on the AL MVP odds board, here's a look at the next couple of players who could be of value in the market.

Yordan Alvarez (+3734)

Jacob deGrom (+3431)
