On Tuesday, we travel to Tropicana field to take a NRFI between the Tampa Bay Rays and the Milwaukee Brewers.

Brandon Woodruff is always a great choice when it comes to playing a NRFI. His 2022 8-1 NRFI record is a continuation of his past NRFI success where he is now an outstanding 31-9 to the NRFI. In 36 first-inning batters, Woodruff has only allowed three hits, holding his first-inning opponents to a .103 average.

These Rays hitters have not faced Woodruff in the past, leaving the unfamiliarity edge to Woodruff.

It should be noted for the Rays that Yandy Diaz in his last seven days is just 3-for-18. He is projected to bat leadoff today. In the month of June in the first inning, the Rays rank 29th in hard contact rate at 22.0%. The Rays are also on an 8-2 NRFI run as a team in their last 10 games.

On the other side, we have Rays top prospect Shane Baz, who is 3-0 to the NRFI in 2022 and 5-2 since his young career started. In 22 first-inning batters faced in his career, Baz is holding hitters to a .143 average while only issuing one walk.

Like Woodruff, Baz has also not faced these Brewers hitters in his career, leaving the unfamiliarity edge to Baz.

Rowdy Tellez is three for his last 17 and projected to bat third today. Luis Urias is projected to bat fifth today and struggles to hit on the road with a .188 average in over 100 plate appearances this season.

With the total set to 7, take these two hard-throwing righties to get their hitters in check in the first inning today. Take the NRFI between the Brewers and the Rays.

As Always, six outs to glory…
