George is a content marketing writer at Action Network. Working on the affiliate team he's responsible for crafting occasionally funny but always informative articles, emails, and social posts promoting Action's amazing sports book partners and their latest promotions. George has been betting for 6 years and finally decided to turn his passion into his day job. He's always down to talk sports or commiserate on bad beats.

Experience

George is a content marketing writer at Action Network, working on the affiliate team to craft engaging promotional content on email and social. He started his career at Drift, a B2B SaaS startup and worked as a marketing writer for multiple marketing agencies afterwards. After a conversation at a tailgate/craw boil with college friend and current Action employee, Conor Powers, George decided to finally pursue his passions of sports and gambling and applied for a position at Action. George is thrilled to be working with a great team in an industry he'd always dreamed about being a part of.

Education

George graduated from Boston College in 2018 with a double major in marketing and communications. While there, George contributed to multiple sports blogs, co-founding one, and did a weekly sports radio show on BC's station. Most of his work centered on BC's inability to play even mediocre football/basketball.

Betting Highlights
Favorite Bet of All-Time
In the last month of my semester abroad in college, I was down to the final $150 in my bank account (not gambling related I just got takeout a lot). I needed money badly, and I couldn't work since I wasn't a citizen of the country. So, I did the responsible thing and decided to try sports betting for the first time. After a few losses courtesy of the Maui Invitational, I was down to $50. On my last night abroad, I put that $50 on a two team college hoops parlay. The first leg hit easily. The second leg was Loyola Chicago against UIC. Seeing Loyola down 3 with a second left, I assumed I'd lost and closed the ESPN app in disgust. The next morning I went to close my betting account and saw there was $300 in there. Unbeknownst to me, Loyola had hit a 3 at the buzzer to tie it and won the game in OT. At the Dublin airport, I threw $200 of my winnings onto a 6-team NFL parlay. When I arrived home, I asked my brother for the scores. All 6 picks hit and I made $700. A month of successful betting (and an on-campus job) later, I cashed out for $2000 and was able to make it through the rest of my junior year without going on a forced hunger strike.
Most Heartbreaking Bet
I once lost the last leg of a 5 team college basketball moneyline parlay that would have paid out $500+ because Providence couldn't inbound the ball or make a free throw to save their life and blew a 10 POINT LEAD in the final minute.
