The 2020 Pegasus World Cup takes place today at 5:34 p.m. ET. There's a great day of racing ahead.
Let me take you through all of my picks for the final six graded stakes races:
Zerillo: My Betting Card for 2020 Pegasus World Cup Day
Race 7
2:31 p.m. ET
To begin the Pick Six sequence, I'm including the No. 5 Phat Man (10-1) and No. 8 Free Enterprise (4-1).
I might also play some exotics using the No. 7 Tale of Silence (10-1) and No. 9 Olympic Village (20-1), who should be running late with the 5 horse.
Pick: 5 over 8, 7, 9
Race 8
3:03 p.m. ET
Going to single the No. 6 Lady Paname (3-1) in the Pick Six, but would consider using the No. 7 War Cabinet (12-1) as a "B" horse to begin a late Pick 5.
In single race exotics, I would also use the No. 2 Simply Beautiful (9-2) No. 4 Mean Mary (8-1), and No. 10 Get Explicit (7-2)
Pick: 6 over 7, 4, 2
Race 9
3:36 p.m. ET
I like the No. 7 Spiced Perfection (8-5) as the chalk here to begin the Late Pick Four, but I wouldn't be surprised to see an upset from the No. 5 Blamed (6-1).
In single race wagering, I'm looking at the No. 6 Nonna Madeline (8-1), No. 10 A Bit of Both (12-1) and No. 11 Pink Sands (8-1).
Pick: 7 over 5, 6 10, 11
Race 10
4:12 p.m. ET
The No. 1 Red Knight (3-1) is the clear horse to beat, but he will be singled on a lot of multi-race tickets. Some alternatives include the No. 7 Cross Border (9-2) and No. 12 American Tattoo (7-2).
Those three look ripe for exacta and trifecta wagering.
Pick: 1 over 7,10,12
Race 11
4:49 p.m. ET
I'll be using the three Chad Brown runners, the No. 3 Without Parole (4-1), No. 6 Instilled Regard, and No. 11 Sacred Life (12-1), in addition to the No. 12 Magic Wand (7-2) in Pick Four and Pick Five wagering.
But I also like a couple of 30-1 shots in the No. 7 Admission Office or No. 9 Next Shares to potentially hit the board.
Pick: 3 over, 12, 11, 6, over 7, 9
Race 12 – Pegasus World Cup
5:34 p.m. ET
After the scratches to the top two contenders, I'll side with either the No. 6 Higher Power (6-1) or No. 2 Tax (8-1) to capture this race.
I would be remiss, however, to ignore the No. 10 Mucho Gusto (9-2) completely with the Bob Baffert / Irad Ortiz hookup. I consider him more of a "B" horse.
And I'll be using some longer shots including the No. 7 War Story (30-1) and No. 8 Mr. Freeze (20-1) to hit the board in single race exotics.
