How Professionals Are Betting 76ers-Celtics NBA Season Opener

Today is the big day, folks! NBA basketball is back, and college basketball will return soon as well. So many things on which to bet!

Tonight, there are just two games, but we're tracking interesting betting activity on both. Monday night the line started moving for the Thunder-Warriors game thanks to Russell Westbrook's knee injury.

As of Tuesday morning there's nothing new on the injury front.

However, Sports Insights' betting tools reveal that sharp bettors have already gotten down on the Philadelphia 76ers-Boston Celtics game (8 p.m. ET on TNT).

Sports Insights' Bet Signals triggered a reverse line move at Pinnacle — perhaps the sharpest book on the market — on Philadelphia, moving line from the opener of 76ers +5 down to +4.5.

The 76ers are getting just about one-third of the spread bets and a quarter of the moneyline bets, yet the line has moved in their favor.

It's not too surprising that the public is on Boston considering the hype surrounding the Celtics this offseason.

Gordon Hayward is returning to the squad (hopefully for more than five minutes), Kyrie Irving is back and youngsters Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown look to take another step forward this season.
