Yankees vs. Dodgers Odds & Betting Predictions - May 31, 2025

Going to the game today and showing value on Knack’s over — so let’s ride. Last time I had a live sweat was Hendricks over 3.5 at the Angels game (he got 3… then cleared it in 4 of his next 5), so in keeping with tradition, here we go again lol. The Yankees rank 5th in whiff rate and have the lowest chase rate — an odd combo that might actually suit Knack’s approach. He doesn’t rely much on hitters chasing, instead getting ahead in counts and disrupting timing with his changeup, which should play here. The Yankees are rolling out 5 LHB, which would normally hurt a RHP’s strikeout upside — but Knack has actually struck out lefties at a 4% higher rate in his career. One of the more interesting angles: most lineups tend to get easier to strike out toward the bottom, but that’s not really the case today. The Yankees are much more K-heavy in the top 5 spots, while the 6–9 hitters are the toughest to K. That lines up nicely with my sim, which has Knack most likely getting pulled around the 5-hitter third time through — a pretty favorable setup for this number. I’m projecting him closer to -135. And if it doesn’t hit, at least I can yell at him in person.

Both lineups top 2 in HRs and OPS, Ohtani and Judge red-hot. Starting pitching? Yikes. Will Warren (NYY) ERA 4.09, WHIP 1.26, just 2.45 ERA last 3 but Dodgers’ lineup different beast. Landon Knack (LAD) 5.22 ERA, 1.36 WHIP, 7.07 ERA at home. Dodgers outscored 23-7 in his last 3 starts. Over is 9-1 in LAD’s last 10 home interleague. Both teams elite at plate—top 3 in AVG, HR, runs. Pitchers both vulnerable, neither profiles as stopper. Over hit 6 of last 8 meetings, 12-3 in Dodgers’ last 15 at home. Park trending hitter-friendly, wind not a factor.
