Friday's NBA Injury News

8:15 p.m. ET Update: The Lakers will be without Anthony Davis on the second night of a back-to-back when Los Angeles plays the Bulls. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope is also out with an ankle injury. LeBron James remains listed as questionable with an ankle injury, although he's yet to miss a game.

5:45 p.m. ET Update: Toronto Raptors guard Kyle Lowry is out for Friday's matchup with the Sacramento Kings for personal reasons. The Boston Celtics will have Jeff Teague in the starting lineup after he missed two games with a sprained ankle.

2 p.m. ET Update: The Orlando Magic will be without Aaron Gordon Friday. H was been ruled out due to hamstring injury management, but will play Saturday in the second leg of a back-to-back.

11 a.m. ET Update: Washington Wizards guard Russell Westbrook, who dislocated a finger on Wednesday, is not listed on Friday's injury report and should suit up to play agains the Boston Celtics.

The Celtics, however, will be short three players tonight. Grant Williams, Tristan Thompson, and Robert Williams are all required to quarantine for at least seven days, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium. Carsen Edwards has been cleared to play tonight.

The news to watch for Friday involves one team that isn't playing (the Philadelphia 76ers) and one team that is expected to play as of this morning (the Brooklyn Nets).

Sixers guard Seth Curry tested positive for COVID-19 Thursday night and was on the sideline for a portion of the first quarter before leaving the arena once he became aware of his test results. Curry didn't play, but sat near Joel Embiid.

So far there's been no word on whether any Sixers players who were active for Thursday's game or staff have also tested positive. But the contact tracing could potentially impact the Nets who play in Memphis Friday.

Kyrie Irving was a late scratch from that game as well citing personal reasons and is out against the Grizzlies Friday.

Russell Westbrook is questionable to play agains the Boston Celtics after suffering a finger injury in the Washington Wizards' last game.

Per our NBA Insiders tool:

Coach Brooks said Westbrook's finger is still sore from the dislocation and it's unclear if he'll play on Friday. Westbrook was held out of practice on Thursday and is considered day-to-day. He suffered the dislocation late in Wednesday's loss, and if he has to miss time, Raul Neto will move back into the starting lineup in his place with Ish Smith backing him up.
