  • Denmark standouts Kasper Dolberg and Yussuf Poulsen have hit their stride heading into Wednesday's Euro 2020 semifinal match against England.
  • Jeremy Pond has found four player props tied to the strikers, all of which are chock full of betting value.

If the second Euro 2020 semifinal match is anything like Tuesday's affair between Italy and Spain, we should be in for another doozy in London.

The Italians booked their spot in Sunday's final with their penalty shootout win over the Spaniards at Wembley Stadium. The global powers played to a 1-1 draw through regulation and overtime before deciding things from the spot.

Federico Chiesa gave Italy the lead in the second half, but Spain equalized thanks to a beautiful team goal finished off by striker Álvaro Morata. Now, Azzurri await the winner of Wednesday's showdown between betting favorite England and tournament darling Denmark.

As I previously mentioned, the most popular wagers to make on soccer matches involve the sides and game total. They draw the most action at global sportbooks, but that doesn't mean there aren't plenty of other props and derivatives to bet.

For this match, I've targeted a few player props from the underdog Danish side. Let's take a look at these angles and see if we can turn a profit on something a little different than the standard wagers.

I'm not a huge fan of player props of this nature. Targeting the first player to score is more my thing (yes, that would be you Chiesa, Raheem Sterling and your profitable selves).

However, I dug up two intriguing prop angles involving Denmark standouts Kasper Dolberg and Yussuf Poulsen. Both have found their form of late and given the way I see this match going against England, I'm finding plenty of value in these wagers.

Dolberg has six total shots, including four shots on goal and three total goals. Those are some pretty strong statistics. Dolberg, whose shot-distance average is 15.3 yards, had four shots/three on target and two shots/one on target in his past two games.

As for Poulsen, his numbers are just as strong. The RB Leipzig man has seven total shots, including four on target and two goals. His shot-distance average is 16.5 yards. Over the course of his last three appearances, Poulsen has 1-1; 2-1; and, 3-2 when it comes to shots and shots on target.

Now, Poulsen came on for Dolberg around the 60th minute of the second half in the match against Czech Republic, but Denmark was ahead 2-1 at the time. Against Russia, it was the reverse and we saw Dolberg come on Poulsen around the same time and both scored in that contest.

Assuming Denmark is trailing (and that's an assumption I firmly believe will come to fruition), we could see them on the pitch together at some point.

Bottom line, I forecast England jumping out to a 1-0 lead and then attempt to weather the storm of the relentless Danish attack. This has become the modus operandi for manager Gareth Southgate and the Three Lions so far.

And needless to say, it has worked to perfection.

However, Denmark is unlike anyone else England has faced so far. The Danes will keep coming with no regard for anything in their path. And the reason why I tossed in the pair's average shot distance is simple. I don't see Denmark penetrating England's defense deep into its penalty area, which means it's going to have to find a way to get lucky from distance the majority of the time.

Knowing the bulk of shot attempts from Dolberg and Poulsen have been happening on the edge of the box gives me confidence they'll be able to work their way into spaces to get a look at goal.

That said, I’m finding plenty of value on over 0.5 shots on target for both players and will also play them to hit over 1.5 shots on target at bigger prices.

If we hit one of the two longshot plays, we're going to turn a nice profit.
