MLB Lineups & Injury News (April 5): Shohei Ohtani Rests; Tim Anderson (Hamstring) Out

Updated 6 p.m. ET: Tim Anderson (hamstring) and Adam Eaton (facing left-handed starter) are both out of the White Sox lineup on Monday night against the Seattle Mariners. Anderson left Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Angels with hamstring tightness. He’s considered day-to-day.
Shohei Ohtani is, as expected, not in the Los Angeles Angels’ lineup Monday, a day after hitting for himself as the starting pitcher in the Angels’ 7-4 win over the White Sox.
It was a wild night for Ohtani, who hit 100 mph on the radar gun and hit the first pitch he saw as a batter out to right-center for a solo home run. His night ended in scary fashion, as he was run over by reigning American League MVP José Abreu while covering home on a wild pitch.
The Angels said after the game that Ohtani was fine other than general soreness, and his removal from the game after that play was not because of any sort of injury.
Nonetheless, our Action Labs MLB report projected Ohtani to get the day off the day after his historic feat. The Angels host the Astros at 9:38 p.m. ET in Anaheim.
