I will be evaluating my favorite MLB player props based on what the Action Labs Player Prop tool likes. The tool grades each bet on a scale from 1-10, with 10 being the best possible grade.

Below, I have laid out two prop-bets that I am playing, the case for each bet and the best books to find odds on those player props.

MLB Player Props & Picks

Jordan Montgomery — Under 5.5 Strikeouts (+116)

Yankees vs. AthleticsYankees -148

There have been times when Jordan Montgomery looks like he is so close to putting it all together and breaking out but overall has just been unable to consistently string together quality starts. Montgomery has a 4.20 ERA and 3.58 FIP over 13 starts this season.

Aaron Boone tends to have a pretty quick leash with Montgomery, as he averages just 5.4 innings per start and has gone six complete innings just six times this season.

Montgomery’s best strikeout pitch is his curveball at 42.9 K%, but his overall K/9 rate is down at 8.79, which would be his lowest since 2018. This Oakland lineup is red hot right now, and ranks fourth in wOBA, 3rd in wRC+ and 10th in K% during the month of June.

Take Montgomery to stay under 5.5 K’s.

Action Labs Grade: 10/10

Hyun Jin Ryu — Over 5.5 Strikeouts (+128)

Blue Jays vs. OriolesBlue Jays -190
Time 1:05 p.m. ET
Best BookDraftKings

Toronto ace Hyun Jin Ryu has not had an ERA over 3.00 in the last three seasons, but after three shaky starts in a row, he now sits with a 3.43 ERA. However, those last three outings came against the Astros, White Sox and Yankees.

I like Ryu to get back on track on Sunday against a weak Baltimore team. The Orioles rank 19th in wOBA, 17th in wRC+ and 19th in K%.

This season, Ryu has a K/9 of 7.70 which is down from 9.67 last season. He had less than three strikeouts in each of his last three games, but again, that was against very good offenses. Prior to that, Ryu had at least six strikeouts in five-straight games.

Matt Harvey will be on the mound for Baltimore, which should give Toronto an early lead. With the Blue Jays leading, and a weak bullpen forced into action early yesterday, expect Ryu to be given a longer leash to work out of jams and stay in this game.

I like Ryu to go over 5.5 K’s on Sunday, especially getting a +128 price .
