Following a Saturday where we went 3-for-3 in head-to-head matchups, let’s try to make it 6-for-6 this weekend. Here are the picks for the final round of the Wyndham Championship.
Jason Kokrak (-110) over Rory Sabbatini
So far this week, Kokrak is averaging 314 yards per drive, which is nothing new, but he’s also finding fairways at a 76% clip, ranking 15th in the field.
That’s a strong combo on any course, but especially Sedgefield, where driving remains a top priority. Sabbatini started off with a low round and has played well since, but failing to keep up with his Thursdays has become a recurring theme.
Sepp Straka (-130) over Mackenzie Hughes
Two weeks ago, Straka closed with a 66 to finish solo third at the Barbasol; last week, he ended with a 67 in the Stableford format to finish T-12 at the Barracuda.
He’s clearly figured out a key to Sunday scoring — and he’s made himself a lot of money in the process. Hughes, meanwhile, is much like Sabbatini in that he often does most of his damage before the weekend starts.
Matthew Wolff (-165) over Johnson Wagner
You’ll have to eat some juice on this one, but if there’s one player who can scare the leaders from way back, it’s Wolff, who enters the final round in a share of 16th place, at 11-under and six strokes back.
At 100-1 to win outright, there’s some value in placing a couple of bucks on him and hoping he posts something around 61-62 to clinch a second win.
