The 2025 Wyndham Championship tees off this week from Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, N.C. in the final event of the PGA Tour season before the FedEx Cup Playoffs.
Matt Fitzpatrick enters the week as the favorite in a relatively weak field. Fitzpatrick is +2000 to win the Wyndham Championship according to odds posted at DraftKings.
Behind Fitzpatrick on the odds board are Ben Griffin and Keegan Bradley, who are both +2500 to win the Wyndham Championship. Next up is defending champion Aaron Rai at +2800, followed by Jordan Spieth, Hideki Matsuyama, and Robert MacIntyre, who are all +3000.
This column has been red-hot over the last month and a half, cashing three outright winners in the last six tournaments, including last week when I hit Kurt Kitayama to win the 3M Open at +4000 odds.
Let's see if we can keep the hot streak rolling with my Wyndham Championship picks.
2025 Wyndham Championship Picks
Aaron Rai's price is likely getting squeezed a bit due to the fact that he is the reigning champ here, but this is just such an excellent course fit for a guy who is extremely accurate and not very long off the tee.
This course will demand accuracy, and considering it plays at less than 7,000 yards, distance is not much of an advantage here.
Rai grades out as the top golfer in this field for me for this event, as he is first in driving accuracy, ninth in SG: Approach, and fifth in SG: T2G in this field over the last year.
The Lucas Glover profile for this week is pretty similar to Kitayama last week.
Glover is one of the best players in this field in terms of ball striking and he is an excellent fit for this course. It will simply come down to his performance on the greens to determine whether or not he will have a chance this week.
Over the last six months, Glover is third in this field in SG: Approach while also ranking third in driving accuracy and fourth in SG: T2G.
This is a place where Glover has had success, as he won here in 2023. Hopefully he can find some of that magic once again.
I was hoping for a bit longer of a price for Si Woo Kim this week, but I still like 33-1 regardless as I love his fit for this course.
Kim is not very long off the tee but he is very accurate, which is going to be exactly what is needed this week.
Kim ranks seventh in driving accuracy and sixth in SG: T2G in this field over the last year, so if he can have a good week on the putting surface he should find himself in contention.
Andrew Putnam missed the cut last week when we backed him, but I am willing to go right back to him here as this is an even better course fit for him.
Putnam is one of the shortest hitters on the PGA Tour, but at a stop like Sedgefield where accuracy is much more important than distance, that will play into the hands of Putnam, who ranks ninth in driving accuracy over the last year.
He has also had strong approach play, as he ranks 21st in this field in SG: Approach in that timeframe.
Victor Perez is not typically someone who pops in my model, but Sedgefield is quite a bit different than most courses we see these days, so it makes sense to see some new faces.
Perez has been playing some good golf as of late. He ranks 25th in total strokes gained in this field over the last 20 rounds thanks to some strong iron play as he ranks fourth in SG: Approach over the time.
Perez is a good putter and has a strong approach play. He will also benefit from the advantage that accuracy gets over distance here, so give me a dart on Perez at this long-shot number.
