The Outlook
Two aspects of Rahm’s performance have raised eyebrows in the short time it has taken this 23-year-old to ascend to a place among the world’s best players. The first is that he’s supremely talented, possessing the necessary skills in all parts of his game to win dozens of titles over the next few decades. The second is that he still lacks some on-course maturity, often throwing temper tantrums when he’s frustrated. No event provokes more frustration than the U.S. Open, which could mean that first aspect of his game will become overshadowed by the second if he catches a few bad breaks at Shinnecock.
