PropBetGuy’s Wednesday NBA Player Prop: A Devin Booker Under To Bet In Mavericks vs. Suns Game 2

Devin Booker Under 26.5 Points (-118)

After returning from a hamstring injury to help close out the Pelicans series, Devin Booker came out firing in Game 1 against the Mavericks. The Suns guard netted 13 first-quarter points on 4-for-8 shooting from the field.

After that, however, Dallas put the clamps on him and Booker shot just 3-for-12 the rest of the game.

Booker finished with 23 points in 38 minutes, reminding us of the tough individual matchup he has in this series. Dorian Finney-Smith held Booker to 4-of-16 shooting in their regular-season matchups and is likely to draw the primary defensive assignment once again on Wednesday night.

Another added element for Game 2 is Chris Paul’s production.

The Point God’s usage rate, shot attempts, touch time and minutes were all down in Game 2 as he deferred to Booker as the primary playmaker. While these two are likely to share the load, I do expect an uptick in CP3’s counting stats on Wednesday, which would cut into Booker’s production.

The Mavs will likely look to slow down the pace in Game 2, as they did in their second-half comeback on Monday night. I have Booker projected for around 23 points again in a tough matchup.
