Pacers vs Jazz NBA Preview, Predictions
I’m going to take the Pacers -2.5 at Utah tonight.
The Jazz are at home, but they’re coming off the second half of a back-to-back after getting into a bit of a grinder.
They were down by about 20 points at one stage before rallying to cut it to seven, which ended up pushing my Timberwolves -7 play.
I’ve been fading this Jazz team pretty consistently, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see a few players sit — mainly Lauri Markkanen — on the back-to-back.
Now, the Pacers haven’t exactly been impressive lately either, but they’ve been pretty solid against the spread and are starting to get healthier.
Pascal Siakam isn’t on the injury report, and T.J. McConnell is listed as questionable for the first time in a while — a nice upgrade.
I’m not sure if he’ll play, or how many minutes he’ll get if he does, but adding him back into the rotation is an upgrade.
That’s especially true when you compare him to guys like RayJ Dennis and Quenton Jackson.
They’ve done fine, but McConnell brings another level. Even 16 to 18 minutes from him would make a real difference.
This current version of the Pacers — especially with Siakam and possibly McConnell back — is clearly better than this Jazz team, who might be missing their best player in Markkanen.
So, in this spot, I’m taking the Pacers -2.5.
