NBA Slam Dunk Contest Odds
Many NBA fans have complained in the past about the lack of star power in the Dunk Contest, and unfortunately, this year is no different.
Carter Bryant, a rookie out of Arizona playing for the San Antonio Spurs, is the favorite to win the competition, most likely claiming that status from his physical build as an explosive 6-foot-6, 220-pound forward with a near-40-inch vertical.
Next is Los Angeles Lakers center Jaxson Hayes, who is in his seventh year in the league, but has never averaged double-figures in scoring. Hayes has accumulated a lot of highlight dunks over the course of his career and brings his presence as a powerful seven-footer to this year's contest.
Keshad Johnson is likely the biggest unknown to most viewers of this competition, as Johnson was an undrafted player and has played in fewer than 40 games in his NBA career across two seasons with the Miami Heat.
Jase Richardson has some interesting storylines heading into this contest. Richardson has not yet carved out a substantial role for the Orlando Magic, but his father, Jason, won the 2002 and 2003 NBA Slam Dunk Contest before Jase was even born. If Jase can replicate his father's performances, he will have a good shot to win it, despite his low odds.
What is Kalshi?
Different than a traditional sportsbook and available in most states, Kalshi allows users to make predictions across several unique markets, including sports, entertainment, elections, and even weather.
Kalshi operates on a contract-based system where users buy "contracts" (priced between 1–99 cents) based on whether they believe a specific event will happen. The price of each contract fluctuates in real time based on market sentiment, and like the stock market, traders can sell positions early to lock in profits (or minimize losses).
