Colorado's casino industry celebrated a strong performance in February. Its 33 casinos generated nearly $93 million in gaming revenue.
According to the Colorado Department of Revenue, this figure represents an increase of almost 10% compared to the same month last year, when the revenue was $84.2 million. This is good news since casinos in the Centennial State experienced a dip at the end of last year.
Let's take a closer look at what drove these impressive numbers and how Colorado stands out on the national stage.
Slots and Table Games Shine
Slot machines remain the backbone of Colorado's casino industry, bringing in $77.6 million in February.
This is a 7.6% increase from February 2025, when slots generated $72.1 million. It's clear that players have a strong preference for the flashy, exciting slots, which account for a significant portion of revenue.
Table games, though smaller in contribution compared to slots, showed remarkable growth. They raked in $14.9 million, which is an increase of nearly 23% from last February's $12.1 million.
Analysts believe the bump may have been fueled by high-end play or enticing promotions that drew more players to try their luck at table games.

Black Hawk Leads the Pack
Black Hawk, known for its larger casinos and proximity to Denver, dominates the market, accounting for roughly 76% of the state's casino revenue.
Its casino generated over $70 million in February, up 9.7% from the previous year. The town saw slots garner $56.6 million (an increase of 6.4%), while table games surged by 25.8% to reach $13.8 million.
Cripple Creek and Central City, although smaller than Black Hawk, also contributed to the state's growth. Cripple Creek brought in $15.8 million, up 8.9%, with slots growing by 10.6%, despite a slight decline in table games.
Central City, on the other hand, boasted the strongest percentage growth at 13.6%, earning $6.3 million. Both slots and tables in Central City saw significant increases.

How Does Colorado Compare Nationally?
Colorado's casinos are outperforming many larger markets across the United States.
While the national traditional casino sector showed slower growth of around 0.9% in January 2026, Colorado's February growth rate of 9.8% shines brightly. This is particularly impressive given that the U.S. casino industry includes much bigger and more diverse markets.
Nationally, the broader gaming industry, which includes online and sports betting, has been setting records. However, as traditional brick-and-mortar gaming growth stabilizes, states like Colorado are excelling by capitalizing on local factors such as tourism and the Denver metro area's proximity.
Colorado Casinos Have a Flourishing Future
Colorado's revenue results paint a picture of a thriving casino industry with strong growth across both slots and table games.
With towns like Black Hawk, Cripple Creek, and Central City contributing positively, Colorado is leveraging its unique advantages to outperform national trends. As the U.S. casino industry continues to evolve, Colorado remains a shining example of resilience and success in the face of broader market shifts.
