The COVID-19 pandemic continues to shift the world, including betting markets for the 2020 presidential election.

As New York governor Andrew Cuomo continues to combat the coronavirus outbreak across his state, European sportsbook Betfair has added odds for him to win the Democratic nomination as well as the general election.

Let's take a quick look at Cuomo's numbers then dig into the broader race.

Andrew Cuomo's 2020 Election Odds

  • To win the Democratic nomination: +5000 (1.8% implied probability)
  • To win the general election: +8000 (1.1% implied probability)

Odds as of Wednesday and via Betfair. If you're new to betting, +5000 odds means a $100 bet would net a $5,000 profit. You can also covert odds using our Betting Odds Calculator. Note that the implied probabilities are vig-free.

First, it's important to note that while Cuomo has been added to the betting boards, he has not announced any intention of running in 2020. His +5000 odds to win the Democratic nomination and +8000 odds to win the general election odds are also the worst in either market — both give him less than a 2% implied probability of winning.

Former vice president Joe Biden is a heavy -1667 favorite (87.9% implied probability) to secure the Democratic nomination, with Bernie Sanders all the way down to a +2500 underdog (3.6% implied probability). And in recent weeks, Biden and Donald Trump have bounced back and forth atop the general election odds board, though Trump is currently a -110 favorite (45.9 implied probability%) with Biden a +100 underdog (43.7% implied probability).

Here are the latest presidential election odds as of Wednesday and via Betfair:

  • Donald Trump: -110 (45.9% implied probability)
  • Joe Biden: +100 (43.7%)
  • Mike Pence: +3300 (2.6%)
  • Bernie Sanders: +3300 (2.6%)
  • Hillary Clinton: +5000 (1.7%)
  • Nikki Haley: +6600 (1.3%)
  • Michelle Obama: +8000 (1.1%)
  • Andrew Cuomo: +8000 (1.1%)
