The Round of 32 continues on Thursday, and we have plenty of World Cup action to discuss with three games today.
The matchday begins with Spain vs. Austria at 3:00 p.m. ET in Los Angeles. Then, Portugal and Croatia meet at 7:00 p.m. ET in Toronto, and the slate concludes with Switzerland facing Algeria at 11:00 p.m. ET in Vancouver.
Let's get into our World Cup prop picks for the Round of 32 on Thursday, July 2.
Round of 32 World Cup Prop Picks
Spain vs Austria Prop Picks
Austria's pressing style under manager Ralf Rangnick might not be the best approach against Spain, which crushes teams that hunker down in their own half and crowd the box to defend.
But even if Austria decides to mix it up, as soon as Spain scores, the game should break open for good. Unless both teams miss a lot of clear shots, this matchup should hit the over.
This pick is really a parlay piece. Lamine Yamal is as much a playmaker as a goalscorer, with 16 goals and 11 assists in LaLiga, plus six and four in the Champions League.
Back him to do either throughout 90 or 120 minutes (if the match goes to extra time), and parlay it with the first pick to get a +115 payout at FanDuel.
Portugal vs Croatia Prop Picks
Croatia has a history of sending knockout matches to extra time. They played three in Russia 2018 and another two in Qatar 2022, with four of those five decided on penalty shootouts.
It doesn't mean this game needs to follow the same route, but you must know this Croatia side doesn't back down from a challenge, so it's basically a bet on them scoring here, as Portugal probably will as well.
Dominik Livakovic had seven saves on 12 shots against England in Croatia's debut match in this World Cup, and you can expect him to also be heavily involved in this Round of 32 matchup.
Three saves would be better, but for value alone, go with four. And if you parlay it with both teams scoring, you get +305 odds at DraftKings.
Switzerland vs Algeria Prop Picks
Of the 12 total goals in Algeria's group matches, eight were scored in the second half. And in Switzerland's games, it was an incredible nine of 10, which means that after Breel Embolo put them ahead 1-0 against Qatar with a penalty in the 17th minute, every goal that followed, by the Swiss or their opponents, was scored in the second period.
These two teams should offer an exciting back-and-forth matchup, and neither will feel entirely confident while on the lead in this game.
