The Mavericks travel to take on the Warriors in Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals on Wednesday evening.
Dwight Powell (26% opening-tip win rate) will be taking on Kevon Looney or Jonathan Kuminga (33% and 0%) in the opening tip-off. Powell is 3-1 against Looney over the past two seasons on opening tipoffs, so I think there is a good chance Dallas wins the tip.
Dallas scores first 54% of the time on the season. That number is a bit misleading since they did really well on that front with Kristaps Porzingis at center. Since the Porzingis trade, Dallas has scored first 42% of the time. Golden State scores first just 38% of the time.
In the three games against each other this season, both teams have struggled in early possessions. Both teams have averaged about three field goal attempts before making their first field goal.
I’m going with Luka Doncic here, and I like Golden State to win. Also adding in Reggie Bullock (86% of shots in playoffs have been 3 pt shots) as a risk-free lotto play using MGM promo.

- Reggie Bullock first field goal (BetMGM, risk free $25 bet) +1200 Risk (0.25u, $25 Max)
