Hornets vs. Magic
Friday's first win-or-go-home game will be between the Charlotte Hornets and Orlando Magic. Both teams will be determined to extend their seasons, so each team's top dog will likely take on a heavier workload than usual. We'll focus on LaMelo Ball in this matchup, though.
Ball erupted for 30 points on 12-of-31 shooting in Charlotte's first play-in matchup with the Miami Heat, and all signs point to his shot volume remaining sky-high in such an important contest. The magnitude of Friday's game and the do-it-all point guard's shot profile make a high point total seem likely.
Ball's field goal percentage (40.7%) isn't the best, but his 3-point volume often makes him hard to contain. He leads the league in 3-point attempts (740) and heavily leans on the long ball when his shot volume is at its peak.
The Hornets star averaged 30.1 points in the last 10 regular-season games in which he attempted at least 22 shots this year. He averaged 14.1 3-point attempts per contest in those outings. Low efficiency isn't likely to deter the 24-year-old, as he was just 2-for-16 from deep against Miami.
Orlando has held Ball to 18.8 points per game through four matchups this season, but the postseason is different. Charlotte's floor general will take advantage of his green light against a talented defensive team that's held Brandon Miller, Kon Knueppel and Miles Bridges under their 2025-26 scoring averages.
Pick: Lamelo Ball Over 24.5 Points (+101)
Hornets vs. Magic
Brandon Miller is snaring a career-high 4.9 rebounds per game this season, but his production on the glass has dropped in April. He's averaging 3.7 boards per contest this month and hasn't been a consistent contributor as a rebounder against Orlando in 2025-26.
The Alabama product has tallied just seven total rebounds across three meetings with Orlando this season. Miller's 6'7" frame has helped him assert himself as a valuable contributor on the glass, but the Magic can match his length and physicality.
Miller struggled with early foul trouble against Miami, and Franz Wagner's return to the hardwood will only strengthen the physical profile of an Orlando team that's shooting a league-high 27.5 free throws per game.
Moussa Diabate and Miles Bridges appear to be the players most likely to lead the rebounding battle for the Hornets.
Pick: Brandon Miller Under 5.5 Rebounds (-118)

Warriors vs. Suns
Stephen Curry is back at full strength ahead of the Golden State Warriors' Friday matchup with the Phoenix Suns, and his presence could lessen the impact of other Dubs guards like Brandin Podziemski.
Podziemski is averaging 3.7 assists per game in 2025-26, but that figure drops to 3.1 when Curry is available. The Santa Clara product has fallen short of four assists in straight contests, and Golden State's starting lineup changes have a lot to do with that.
Gui Santos and De'Anthony Melton have made spot starts in April, and that duo is averaging 6.3 combined assists as starters this season. Curry has only recently reclaimed his place as the starting lead guard, but his incorporation will likely boost the assist numbers of Draymond Green as the team's primary initiator.
Green's playmaking is on the rise, and he's tallied more than 6.0 assists per game in back-to-back months for the first time this season with the Dubs' resident sharpshooter back in the rotation.
Podziemski will likely remain an important part of the first unit, but assist total bettors should keep in mind that he'll be a tertiary passer on Friday. His ceiling will likely be limited against a borderline top-five scoring defense that held him to 3.3 dimes per contest during the regular season.
Pick: Brandin Podziemski Under 3.5 Assists (-124)
