Knicks vs Raptors NBA Preview

The Knicks still haven't beaten a good team on the road, but tonight is their best opportunity.

We learned early Monday that RJ Barrett (knee) will be out at least one more week, meaning the Raptors will again be short one of their best players.

In eight games without Barrett, Toronto is 3-5, and it has won only one of its last six.

The Knicks are 3-6 on the road, but their wins have come against a trio of short-handed foes in the Hornets, Mavericks, and Nets.

Their road losses? Two in Miami, one in Milwaukee, one in Chicago, one in Boston, and another in Orlando.

The Knicks haven't beaten any team we expect to see in the playoffs — or at least the Play-In — this season.

However, Toronto can be the first, assuming the Raptors don't fall all the way off. They are 15-10 now, far removed from their 14-5 start, and have slipped from second to fourth in the East.

The Knicks are an NBA-worst 2-7 against the spread on the road, and the Raptors are a league-worst 1-8 ATS after a loss.

As a boomer anchor would have said 40 years ago: Something's gotta give.

Injury-wise, the Raptors will be without Barrett, while Jamison Battle (ankle) is day-to-day.

For the Knicks, Landry Shamet (shoulder) is out. Deuce McBride (ankle) and Karl-Anthony Towns (calf) are questionable — though Towns practiced with the team on Monday.

Knicks vs Raptors Prediction, Betting Analysis

Immanuel Quickley over 2.5 threes is my play.

The Raptors need three-point volume to keep up with the Knicks' high-powered offense, and Quickley is their trigger man.

His three-point attempt rate is well above 50%, and he's the only starter above 26.6% other than the injured RJ Barrett.

Quickley went 4-for-10 from deep against the Knicks a little over a week ago, and I think he can repeat that tonight.

He has made three or more threes in four of his last six games.

I'd expect him to launch between eight and 10 attempts in this matchup against a Knicks team that is one of only two in the NBA allowing over 40 three-point attempts per 100 possessions.

Pick: Immanuel Quickley Over 2.5 Three-Pointers Made (-135)
