NBA Futures Odds

NBA Futures Betting

An NBA "futures" bet is a wager on an event where the outcome will be determined much later in a given NBA season--beyond just the current day or week. Popular NBA futures center around results like betting on a team to make the playoffs, win their respective division and/or conference, or to win the NBA Finals. Other common NBA futures bets include correctly picking individual players to receive accolades like the NBA Most Valuable Player award and NBA Rookie of the Year. If the selected team or player wins the event on which the wager was placed, the bettor wins their bet.

Understanding NBA Futures Odds and Payouts

Futures odds are associated with bigger payouts since the outcomes are much more difficult to predict than a single game bet at the best sportsbooks. As such a wide range of odds from anything like +250 to +1100 are not uncommon. Due to the inherently difficult nature of futures betting, bettors can expect “plus-money” options at the beginning of a season, even when betting on favorites. Futures are available across the entire season with changing odds based on team performance.

2026-27 NBA Finals Odds

The biggest spectacle each NBA season, and its most popular futures event, is the NBA Finals. The New York Knicks sit atop the NBA after knocking off the San Antonio Spurs in the 2025-26 NBA Finals. The offseason, as always, has seen some roster shakeups throughout the league. Here are the latest NBA Championship odds:

NBA Finals 2027 Dates

We are a long way out from the 2026-27 NBA Finals, but it never hurts to plan ahead! The date for NBA Finals Game 1 is expected to be in June 2027. The Finals are a seven-game series in a 2-2-1-1-1 format.

NBA Cup 2026 Odds

The quest for the NBA Cup has brought even more excitement to the regular season since its implementation in 2023. The New York Knicks are the reigning NBA Cup champions, defeating the San Antonio Spurs 124-113 in the 2025 championship game.

The in-season tournament consists of three randomized groups of five teams in each conference for a total of six. Every team has four group stage games that impact both the NBA Cup standings and regular season standings. The winners of each group, along with one wildcard from both conferences, qualify for the knockout rounds.

The championship game is held in Indianapolis this year, breaking a three-year run in Las Vegas. Each player on the championship squad earns a bonus — last year’s champions took home $530,933 apiece.

Oct. 30: Start of NBA Cup

Nov. 27: End of Group Stage (plus designated Cup Nights Nov. 24-25)

Dec. 4-5: NBA Cup Quarterfinals

Dec. 8-9: NBA Cup Semifinals

Dec. 11: NBA Cup Finals (Indianapolis)

2026-27 NBA Regular Season Win Totals Odds

Every team comes into the start of the regular season to win the NBA Championship. To do that, though, they must first win enough games to make the playoffs. This is where NBA win totals odds come into play for futures bettors. Oddsmakers set a line for each team on the number of games they are predicted to win. Bettors are given the option to either bet over/under that predicted win total. Team win totals and their associated moneylines are updated throughout the season. Are you ready to make your bet?

2026-27 NBA Playoff Odds

With the expansion of the playoff field in 2021, thanks to the new play-in tournament format, 10 NBA teams from each conference now have the chance to compete for a championship. The addition of the play-in tournament offers bettors more options at selecting which teams will make the playoffs.

2026-27 NBA Eastern Conference Odds

The 2026 season officially turned the Eastern Conference upside down, as the newly crowned champion New York Knicks look to defend their throne against the Boston Celtics, the conference's all-time winningest franchise.

2026-27 NBA Atlantic Division Odds

Jump To: Boston Celtics | Brooklyn Nets | New York Knicks | Philadelphia 76ers | Toronto Raptors

The Boston Celtics topped the Atlantic Division in 2025–26 with a 56–26 record, securing their fifth consecutive division crown. However, the reigning NBA champion New York Knicks sit right on their heels, alongside a dangerous Philadelphia 76ers squad, making this a division primed for fierce playoff seeding battles and massive betting handle.

2026-27 NBA Central Division Odds

Jump To: Chicago Bulls | Cleveland Cavaliers | Detroit Pistons | Indiana Pacers | Milwaukee Bucks

The Central Division is completely wide open after a wild year that saw the Detroit Pistons erupt for 60 wins to hijack the division crown. While the Cleveland Cavaliers remain the most dangerous threat to steal it back, all eyes are on how Giannis Antetokounmpo and a retooling Milwaukee Bucks squad plan to bounce back and reclaim their spot at the top

2026-27 NBA Southeast Division Odds

Jump To: Atlanta Hawks | Charlotte Hornets | Miami Heat | Orlando Magic | Washington Wizards

The Atlanta Hawks claimed a chaotic Southeast Division title last season, narrowly edging out the Orlando Magic by a single game. With the Charlotte Hornets and Miami Heat finishing right behind them. This remains the most unpredictable division in the league and a prime target for hunting early betting value.

The San Antonio Spurs shook up the league in 2026, capturing the Western Conference Championship after an emotional Game 7 triumph over the Oklahoma City Thunder to secure their first Finals appearance since 2014.

2026-27 NBA Northwest Division Odds

Jump To: Denver Nuggets | Minnesota Timberwolves | Oklahoma City Thunder | Portland Trail Blazers | Utah Jazz

The Oklahoma City Thunder completely controlled the Northwest Division last season, leaving no room for a tiebreaker by stacking up a massive 64-win campaign. Even with OKC comfortably holding the crown over the Denver Nuggets and Minnesota Timberwolves, this group remains an absolute meat grinder and arguably the most talent-dense division in basketball.

2026-27 NBA Pacific Division Odds

Jump To: Golden State Warriors | Los Angeles Clippers | Los Angeles Lakers | Phoenix Suns | Sacramento Kings

The Los Angeles Lakers returned to the top of the mountain last season, locking down a 53-win campaign to decisively secure the Pacific Division title. With the Phoenix Suns and LA Clippers consistently breathing down their neck, and veteran heavyweights like the Golden State Warriors always lurking, this remains a star-studded division where the odds board shifts weekly.

The Southwest Division conversation completely shifted last season after the San Antonio Spurs exploded for 62 wins to secure the division crown on their way to an unforgettable Finals run.

NBA MVP Odds

There is only one player who can claim the NBA’s highest individual honor each regular season: the NBA Most Valuable Player. The MVP award is voted on by a panel of sportswriters and broadcasters within the United States and Canada. While the panel will naturally consider a player’s individual stats such as points, rebounds, assists, and more, they will put those numbers into the context of how a player's team performs over the course of the season to help determine their MVP votes. See how the NBA MVP odds ebb and flow as the season progresses and choose the player that you think will hoist the trophy this season.

181882_rookie-of-the-year1.png

NBA Rookie of The Year Odds aka ROY

The only award that is awarded to a new player 100 percent of the time. Rookies not only compete to make a name for themselves against the 60+ other fresh-faced newcomers to the league, but they also compete with one another to be named the top of their draft class. NBA Rookie of the Year odds tend to favor some of the first few picks in the draft, but history tells us that anyone could walk away with this coveted honor.

Betting on NBA Futures

After a long regular season and the grueling NBA Playoffs, only two teams remain to face-off in the NBA Finals. Once the Finals match-up is set, oddsmakers will set what is known as American Odds on the championship series. At this point, these are no longer future odds as the main event is near. For an event this major, the odds have a name: the NBA Finals Odds Series Price, using American Odds.

For additional resources, check out our betting calculators and our guide for betting on basketball. But here are the fast facts on odd types and how to bet on the NBA Finals.

✅ What are American Odds?

American Odds are the default odds used by U.S. sportsbooks. The odds are based on winning $100 for a given bet on either the Favorite or the Underdog.  A Favorite will have a minus (-) sign next to the odds and represents the money you need to risk to win $100. An Underdog will have a plus (+) sign in front and represents the money you can win for every $100 risked. So, if you're betting on the Bucks at -140 against the Suns, that means Milwaukee is a slight favorite. You need to risk $140 to win $100 on the Bucks. If they win, you profit $100 and get your original $140 back.

✅ What are Decimal Odds?

Beyond the U.S., most of the world uses Decimal Odds, in part because it’s easier to convert them to implied probabilities. Decimal odds represent the amount you win for every $1 wagered. The number represents the total return, not just the profit (this is different from American and fractional odds).

✅ What are Fractional Odds?

Fractional Odds are used primarily in Ireland and the United Kingdom. Few bettors use fractional odds for betting sports other than horse racing, because the conversions to understand a return are challenging. To calculate winnings on fractional odds, multiply your bet by the top number (the numerator), then divide the result by the bottom number (the denominator).

✅ Where can I bet on the NBA Finals?
