76ers vs Heat NBA Preview

This is the game to put on the big TV tonight, per myself and the Future Js on last night's episode of the Buckets podcast. This is a massive game for all parties involved, including some of you who bet futures.

The 76ers are listed around -750 to make the playoffs following a huge win in Charlotte to win the season tiebreaker against the streaking Hornets — and they'll have a similar opportunity to own the tiebreaker against Miami with a win tonight.

Philadelphia is finally healthy. Joel Embiid, Paul George, and Tyrese Maxey all returned to the Sixers' lineup this week. For now, the core-four is at full strength.

Meanwhile, the Heat just allowed the Pacersto score 135 points against them yesterday, and now fly back home to host the second end of a back-to-back tonight.

The Heat have lost seven of their last eight games, and they are 6-12 with Tyler Herro and Norman Powell in the lineup. Additionally, they are 12-16 with just Herro, and 28-27 with Powell — for what it's worth.

Powell (illness) sat out against Indiana yesterday, and was the only player on the injury report for that game other than Terry Rozier (feds), who might never play NBA games again.

On the other side, the 76ers have a clean report, as far as their relevant players go.

76ers vs Heat Predictions, Betting Analysis

Tyrese Maxey has scored 25+ points in six straight games — and in seven of his last eight against Miami.

He tends to hit his overs against Miami more often than Embiid.

Miami's defense is bending, having allowed 120 points or more in seven of the last eight games.

Maxey has taken 23 or more shots in all of the games he went over 25.5 (and 26.5) against Miami.

Now, with everyone healthy, you would think the attempts would take a hit, but he always gets his against this backcourt and tends to do so regardless if it is Herro, Powell or Davion Mitchell standing opposite of him.

In his first game back from injury, Maxey scored 26 points and logged 43 minutes right away against the Hornets — shooting 10-for-18 from the field and 3-for-6 from deep.

Pick: Tyrese Maxey Over 26.5 Points (-118)
