Wisconsin vs Oregon College Football Week 9 Preview
Wisconsin Badgers Preview
After the Badgers got shut out for the second straight game, I thought the Luke Fickell era was over. But it appears that will not be the case, according to AD Chris McIntosh.
Regardless, it feels like a sad state of affairs in Madison.
I truly don’t know what Danny O’Neil did to offend Fickell, because deciding to roll with Hunter Simmons as the starter in the past two games is crazy work to me. And we still don’t know the status of Billy Edwards Jr.
This is a program that has scored 20 total points over the past four games with 543 total passing yards. That's bad.
On the ground, Dilin Jones, who leads the team in rushing yards, isn’t even averaging four yards per carry.
I don’t think the defense is that bad, though, despite what the Badgers’ points allowed look like. In standard down metrics, the Badgers rank 35th in Success Rate allowed and ninth in PPA allowed, which is overall pretty solid.
But it won’t matter when they show up in Eugene.
Oregon Ducks Preview
After falling at the hands of Indiana two weeks ago at home, the Ducks handled business just fine against Rutgers last week with a 56-10 victory.
Quarterback Dante Moore looks like the total package, completing passes at a 72% rate and turning the ball over at an astoundingly low rate.
Having the weapons that he has at his disposal certainly doesn’t hurt. Wide receiver Dakorien Moore is showing just why he was the nation’s top recruit in his freshman class, leading the team in receiving yards.
Not only that, but Kenyon Sadiq is up there with being one of the top tight ends in the country. He's also a lights-out blocker for running backs Noah Whittington and Dierre Hill Jr., who are each averaging over nine yards per carry.
Defensively, it’s hard to find two players better than Bryce Boettcher, Teitum Tuioti and Bear Alexander, who are all tackling machines.
But the secondary has truly shone throughout the season, with Ify Obidegwu and A’Mauri Washington destroying it in coverage.

Wisconsin vs Oregon College Football Week 9 Pick
The spread sitting at 31.5 and the over/under coming in at 45.5 tells me just how much faith the books have in Wisconsin.
You don’t want to beat a dead horse or kick a team when it's down, but it’s hard to truly believe in the Badgers at this stage of their season.
Getting dragged through the gauntlet of Iowa, Ohio State, Oregon and then Indiana two weeks from now? How can you be bullish?
Oregon is a perennial powerhouse in college football as a whole, and I don’t think this will be close. After pummeling Rutgers in Piscataway, 31.5 points doesn’t seem so drastic for the Ducks.
I will be riding with Oregon to cover.
Pick: Oregon -31.5
