Pennsylvania's gaming industry hit a new high in October.
The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board announced that in October 2025, the total money made from all types of gaming and fantasy contests was about $597 million. This is roughly a 20% increase compared to the amount made in October 2024.
This is a big jump, around 20% more than the same time last year. But we have seen this happen before in the Keystone State. But it's important to note that most of the growth in October came from online casino games, also known as iGaming.
Pennsylvania Casino and Sports Betting Remain Strong
Big Jump in Online Gaming:Online casinos made about 33% more money compared to last October. This shows that more people are playing these games, and the market is growing.
Growth in Traditional Games and Sports Betting: Money from physical slot machines rose by around 1%, and sports betting saw a noticeable increase, with more bets placed and more money made.

Steady Fantasy Contests: Fantasy contest revenues slightly dropped by about 1%, but they still remain a stable part of the gaming world.
Tax Collection: The state collected around $250 million in taxes from all types of gaming in October.
Top Casino Performer: Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course was the top earner, making about $114 million. This is nearly a 39% increase from last year, showing how some casinos are doing really well because of their strong online and in-person strategies.
Multi-State Internet Gaming Agreement Having Impact
Pennsylvania's impressive revenue growth this 2025 is largely due to a strategic decision made earlier in the year. The state joined the Multi-State Internet Gaming Agreement (MSIGA), which allows online poker players in Pennsylvania to compete with players in other states, including:
This move has created a larger pool of players, leading to bigger tournament prizes and a wider variety of games. Pennsylvania became the sixth state to join MSIGA, with Governor Josh Shapiro signing the agreement in April 2025.
Multi-state gaming has made Pennsylvania the largest state in the MSIGA network, increasing its influence and competitiveness in the national online poker market.
Industry Growth is Not Expected to Let Up in Pennsylvania
Online gaming is driving a lot of growth in Pennsylvania's gaming industry, now making up a big part of the total revenue. The mix of online games, sports betting, and steady income from traditional casinos shows that the industry is strong and growing.

The record-breaking results in October help confirm that Pennsylvania is one of the top states in the U.S. for gaming revenue, especially excelling in the online gaming area.
