Fantatics Sportsbook has never witnessed anything like this.
In a surprising twist during last night's NBA playoff game, Steph Curry's first-half injury became a game-changer — not just on the court, but also off it.
The sudden exit of the Golden State Warriors' star resulted in the largest refund and biggest parlay win since Fanatics implemented its Fair Play era.
Fanatics Sportsbook's Fair Play Policy in Action
When Curry left the game against the Timberwolves in the first half, it set off a sizable $500,000 refund on all player prop bets related to him, thanks to Fanatics Sportsbook's Fair Play Policy.

In accordance with Fair Play, player prop bets will either get refunded in cash or settled as a win. If part of a parlay, the rest of your bet will still play out. Any bet settled before the injury will stand. pic.twitter.com/ee3UryrWgk

This customer-friendly strategy offers refunds in cash or adjustments for parlay bettors, where the impacted leg is voided while leaving the rest of the parlay intact. Recently expanded from first-quarter to first-half coverage for the NBA Playoffs, the Fair Play policy aims to ensure bettors enjoy a better and fairer betting experience.
A Michigan Gambler Hits Big with a Voided Parlay
In Michigan, one lucky bettor experienced success after Curry's injury voided his parlay leg.
This bettor transformed a $5,000 bet into a whopping $224,773 through a 4-leg parlay involving matches like Warriors vs. Timberwolves and Inter vs. Barcelona.
The leg affected by Curry's premature game exit was voided, allowing the other bets to play out under revised odds of +9240. This windfall marked the largest single payout in Fair Play history.
That Michigan gambler wasn't the only player to hit it big last night as a result of the Fair Play policy. Another player turned $1 into $375, one turned $6.70 into $1,800 and $4,200 became $26,400 — all of which would have been losses if not for Fanatics' policy.
Star-Studded Injuries Change the Game
Curry isn't the only star to experience early exit woes in this season's playoffs.
High-profile players such as Damian Lillard, Jimmy Butler, Kristaps Porzingis, Ja Morant and Russell Westbrook have all faced first-half injuries. A Jimmy Butler injury during the regular season also initiated the Fair Play policy. A similar situation occurred when Anthony Davis was hurt in January and on Christmas Day.

Despite fan frustration when favorite athletes are sidelined, the Fanatics Sportsbook's Fair Play initiative provides some solace as customers have pocketed over $2 million in playoff payouts through Fair Play alone.
Fair Play's Broad Impact on Betting
Beyond the basketball court, Fanatics Sportsbook's Fair Play policy has facilitated more than $8 million in total customer payouts since the start of the football season.
This includes a massive payout following an injury to Aaron Jones during football season.

The rules are straightforward: Fanatics Sportsbook awards the "Under" bet as a winner if a player unexpectedly leaves the game early and reimburses any "Over" bets.
For parlays, if the player is part of one, "Under" bets remain, and "Over" bets get voided, recalculating the odds to keep the action alive.
Steph Curry’s injury not only altered the course of a playoff game, but also spotlighted Fanatics Sportsbook’s commitment to transparency and fairness in sports betting, ensuring fans continue to engage with enthusiasm and confidence.
