Following a great episode of Survivor last week that sent home Benjamin "Coach" Wade and Chrissy Hofbeck, Survivor 50 returned last night with episode 9 of the season.
If you missed it, you might be wondering who went home on Survivor last night?
The aftermath of Rick Devens' bold fake-idol play at the previous Tribal Council immediately set the tone.
This week, the big move by Devens became a cause for concern, as some players elevated his name on their list of targets, and his allies were forced to develop new strategies to stay afloat.

Who Went Home on Survivor Last Night? The Fallon Factor
The episode's defining element, and its most controversial, was the arrival of Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon, who was given the power to influence the game. Jimmy Fallon put Jeff Probst in the position to compete at a challenge while also introducing a new advantage that had a big impact on one player's game.
The reward challenge gave Christian a shot at a "Jimmy Fallon One in the Earn" advantage: if he could complete a Survivor logo puzzle in the allotted time, he'd win the advantage, which would require him to cast a vote immediately, one nobody on his tribe would know about. If he failed, he'd have to read a mystery note in front of his entire tribe.
Christian did not complete the puzzle in time. When he returned to camp, the note stated that Christian would get to make history by having to cast his vote against himself. It was a brutal twist of fate for a player who had been working overtime to survive.
Jeff Probst also stepped into the spotlight in an unprecedented way. Jeff competed in the immunity challenge against Ozzy, Tiffany, Joe, and Jonathan. A montage of Probst trash-talking players over the years set up the moment, though he struggled and didn't outlast any of the four competitors, reportedly lasting about 7.5 minutes. It ultimately came down to Ozzy, Joe, and Jonathan, with Joe picking up the immunity win.
Not everyone was thrilled with the celebrity involvement. One prominent critic argued that Survivor 50 spent nearly an entire challenge focused on the show's host, and that Jimmy Fallon was given the ability to ruin a challenge and break one of the game's fundamental mechanisms.
Christian's Desperate Scramble

With the immunity challenge settled and Devens' name circulating, instead of ditching Devens as an ally, Christian and Emily looked for ways to shift the target away from him. Christian went to Stephenie and Jonathan with a story that they weren't the next targets, but Jonathan felt he knew better than to trust Christian.
As he did with Ozzy, Christian offered Jonathan his Shot in the Dark as a sign of trust, only for Jonathan to immediately plan with Joe to take the Shot in the Dark and vote Christian out anyway. The second plan Christian devised to shift the target was to drop Ozzy's name, calling him "He Who Must Not Be Named," since Ozzy was playing in the middle and was an idol. The only problem: he threw Ozzy's name out to Cirie, Ozzy's closest ally.
Meanwhile, Tiffany let Devens know his name was being tossed around. He was well aware and made it known that he would play his idol at Tribal. Since Christian had to vote for himself and had no use for his Shot in the Dark, he handed it to Jonathan.
History Made at Tribal Council
At Tribal Council, Christian voted for himself and had some words for Jimmy Fallon. Probst tallied the votes and returned. Nobody played an idol or advantage.
The votes came in: one for Christian, one for Devens, one for Ozzy, one for Devens, one for Ozzy, one for Devens, three more for Christian, and the fourteenth person eliminated from Survivor 50 was Christian Hubicki. As Christian left, Jonathan gave him his Shot in the Dark back.
At Tribal Council, Christian fumed: "I am living a farce, and that's why I'm rage-filled," a sentiment that bewildered Probst.
Survivor 50 Predictions: What Kalshi Markets Said Ahead of Tribal Council
The episode's outcome was far from a surprise to those watching the Kalshi prediction markets.
- ✅ Christian's odds of being eliminated were priced at 98%
Hubicki's odds had remained steady since the market launched on April 17, though odds for Emily Flippen to go home surged to over 35% earlier in the week, then dropped back to 3% ahead of the episode. Rick Devens and Stephenie LaGrossa Kendrick also hovered around 3% to 4%.
The Kalshi markets have been uncannily accurate throughout Season 50:
- A since-resolved Episode 8 market changed Coach Wade and Chrissy Hofbeck's odds of going home between 95% and 98% before they were eliminated.
- An Episode 6 market gave 98% odds that Colby Donaldson, Genevieve Mushaluk, and Kamilla Karthigesu would go home before it was even known that three players were being eliminated in the "Blood Moon" twist.
Looking Ahead and Frontrunners for Season 50's Sole Survivor
With Christian gone and ten players remaining, the Survivor 50 winner odds are crystallizing.
- Aubry Bracco leads with 78% odds on the Kalshi Survivor 50 market for who will win Season 50, a market that has accumulated over $18.2 million in trade volume.
- Cirie Fields sits at 11%, Rizo Velovic at 5%, and Joe Hunter, Jonathan Young, and Ozzy Lusth each come in between 2% and 4%.
Next week promises more chaos. A "MrBeast Super Beware Advantage" and MrBeast himself are set to appear, continuing the season's trend of high-profile celebrity crossovers.
Whether that adds to the spectacle or detracts from the pure Survivor strategy remains to be seen, but with Aubry, Cirie, Ozzy, and Devens still in the game, the strategic fireworks are far from over.
