NFL Week 2 Early Bets
Kendra Middleton: This is dusgusting, I know, but I am rocking so hard with the Carolina Panthers it is unbelievable.
I am so high on this team this season. I've been talking about it all offseason. I get that they looked like crap against a mid team in Week 1, but I think the Panthers are going to be OK.
They play in a terrible division, and getting benched last season was the best thing that ever happened to Bryce Young. He came back and was pretty much a completely different player.
I think Tetairoa McMillan looked amazing in Week 1 despite everything that happened to them. I think Chuba Hubbard is a dog. And I think the Cardinals are actually terrible.
The Cardinals are doing the same thing they do every single season. They're going to show up and look like they're competent against some decent opponents, win some games they shouldn't and lose some games they shouldn't.
But I think the Panthers have the best chance to be a team that comes back off of a down Week 1 of anyone this week. I'm rocking with the Panthers this week.
Stuckey: I'm going with the Texans. The Bucs actually looked awful last week. I think the only two quarterbacks in the NFL with a turnover-worthy play rate over 10% were Tua Tagovailoa and Baker Mayfield.
The Falcons just dropped all the picks. There were a couple of fourth downs that went Tampa's way. If you look at net success rate, the Bucs were one of the luckiest teams last week. They still have offensive line issues. The defense still isn't great.
The Texans were kind of in a bad spot last week. They had an offensive lineman ruled out right before the game with an abdomen and they had to shift a bunch of guys around and it was a disaster again.
They at least have some time to get it sorted out now, see who's healthy. I think the Texans at under a field goal at home will take care of business against the Bucs.
