Mexico vs. South Africa Odds

The opening match has been on the World Cup odds board for months, though most of the action has arrived in recent days. And likely still, the majority of the action will land in the final few hours before kickoff.

BetMGM opened the three-way moneyline at Mexico -185/South Africa +675/Draw +230. The Mexican side has since stretched out to -230, with South Africa now +700 and Draw +350.

And it is all Mexico action, as of 10:30 a.m. ET, 4.5 hours ahead of game time. El Tri is taking 73% of bets and a whopping 96% of money. Underdog South Africa is seeing 18% of bets and a tiny 3% of money, while Draw is taking 9% of bets and the final 1% of money.

"Draw or South Africa would be a great result for the book. Either would kill a ton of parlays and same-game parlays. And Under 2.5 would also be good to see from our side,” BetMGM trading manager Seamus Magee said.
