As impressive as Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe and Harry Kane have been, the most effective goalscorer is Erling Haaland, which is kind of his trademark now as he's tallied 62 goals in 54 international matches for Norway.

Keep in mind, he was rested against France, so he's scored his seven goals in just four matches.

The Manchester City striker had a brace vs. Iraq on four shots on goal, two more goals against Senegal on three shots on goal, then the decisive goal vs. Ivory Coast on just two shots on goal, and another brace against Brazil on three shots on goal.

The English defense will be all over him, but at the first 1-on-1 situation on any long ball or counterattack, or even the smallest chance on a corner or cross, count on Haaland to do damage.

England had eight shots on goal against Panama and DR Congo, and 12 vs. Croatia.

The only teams that kept them under this line were the ultra-defensive Ghana with four (and England's aim was also to blame, as they had 19 shots total) and Mexico with five (in a game where England was down to 10 men from the 54th minute).

Norway is a different breed. They alternate ball possession, letting opponents play, but are confident they can be more efficient and not break down on defense.

England will have their chances. It will be up to them — and Norwegian goalkeeper Orjan Nyland — to decide how many end up in the net.
