Manchester City vs. Nottingham Forest
Pep Guardiola’s side has won its last seven matches across all competitions, netting an average of three goals per game, two more than its opponents. This has seen it emerge as Arsenal’s leading contender for the Premier League title.
Manchester City’s attack has been exceptional thus far. Pep’s side has the highest xG in the Premier League, with 30.88. The Citizens have drastically outperformed this metric, netting 38 goals. Erling Haaland is supported by Jeremy Doku, Rayan Cherki, and Phil Foden, all of whom have brought a creative spark to this spellbinding attack. With the supporting cast delivering, Haaland has plenty of chances to score, and he is certainly delivering.
Nottingham Forest lost 1-0 to Fulham on Monday night. Sean Dyche’s team offered very little in the way of creativity, finishing the game with an xG of just 0.67. Forest will see less of the ball against Manchester City, so a lack of cutting edge is a real cause for concern.
Pick: Erling Haaland To Score & Manchester City To Win
Brighton & Hove Albion vs. Arsenal
Arsenal has won seven of its eight home Premier League matches, drawing one. During that run, Arteta’s team has conceded an average of 0.38 goals per game, and this bet has won in five of those outings.
Mikel Arteta’s team has conceded the fewest goals in the division, with 10. It also has the lowest xGA (expected goals against), with 9.8, indicating that Arsenal’s defensive solidity is no fluke.
Brighton’s recent form is less promising, arriving on a run of four league matches without a win. Fabian Hürzeler’s side drew 0-0 at home to Sunderland last weekend and failed to create a single big chance. Struggling to create clear opportunities at home doesn’t bode well ahead of the trip to Arsenal.
Brighton has already been beaten at the Emirates this season, facing a weakened Arsenal team in the EFL Cup back in October, but still failed to get on the scoresheet.
Pick: Arsenal To Win & BTTS – No
Wolverhampton Wanderers vs. Liverpool
Liverpool is unbeaten in six matches across all competitions and has won three consecutive games, conceding only one goal after securing an important victory against Tottenham last week. However, Arne Slot will be without Isak, who is sidelined for several months due to injury, and Mohamed Salah, who is away at the AFCON.
Wolves seem destined for relegation. Sunday's 2-0 defeat marked their 10th consecutive loss, making them only the fourth team in Premier League history to reach double-digit successive defeats. No team in the history of English league football has ever had fewer points than Wolves after 17 games into a season.
Betting on Liverpool to secure a third home win without conceding in the Premier League this season, following victories against Arsenal and Brighton, seems an excellent opportunity to double your stake.
Pick: Liverpool To Win & BTTS – No
Aston Villa vs. Chelsea
Sunday's 2-1 success against Manchester United marked the first time in 111 years that Aston Villa has secured 10 competitive victories in a row. Aston Villa are now just three points behind the league leaders, and their upcoming away fixtures against Chelsea and Arsenal will determine whether Unai Emery's team is a genuine contender for the Premier League title.
Chelsea is coming off an encouraging performance against Newcastle. After a lackluster first half, manager Enzo Maresca got the response he wanted from his side, as captain Reece James scored a superb free-kick into the top corner. The Blues' second-half dominance was clear, as they registered four shots on target compared to Newcastle’s none and an xG of 1.02 to 0.29.
Predicting the outcome of this match is challenging, but logic suggests that two in-form sides will find the back of the net.
