Summary

Andrew O'Connor-Watts is a contributor for The Action Network's NBA team. Prior to joining Action in 2022, he worked as a freelance copy writer and interned at KPIX-CBS 5 San Francisco.

Experience

Five years ago, O'Connor-Watts heard about Bob Voulgaris betting his life savings on the Lakers to win the championship in the 1999-2000 season. Right then and there, he decided he wanted to bet (much smaller amounts) on the NBA. He made spreadsheets, game projections and betting systems via Action Labs. He read books on NBA analytics and studied the sports betting market, joining sports betting discord communities and immersing himself in the world of basketball, sports betting and NBA fantasy.

Education

O'Connor-Watts was the managing, online and copy editor for Diablo Valley College's The Inquirer student newspaper, where he also worked the football beat. He received his BA in English Literature at San Francisco State University.

Favorite Bet of All-Time
I mostly remember the bad beats, but had myself a nice little arbitrage situation for the 2022 NBA Finals. I parlayed the Celtics' series prices all the way to the finals that went against a Warriors future ticket I bought in November.
