The Broncos' defense was incredible last season, and not much has changed in terms of personnel. This will be a tough task for Mahomes & Co., who really haven't had much cohesion outside of practice. Mahomes hasn't taken a meaningful snap in an NFL game since last season, so it's natural to believe there will be some rust in the early going.
It's worth noting that Broncos QB Bo Nix also suffered a season-ending injury last year, but I believe he's got a much better supporting cast than Mahomes. Nix played very well under the tutelage of Sean Payton (their first season together as a duo), so having an entire offseason to prepare for this matchup should bode well in the end.
