The second round of 2026's Farmers Insurance Open gets underway on Friday at Torrey Pines in California.

Justin Rose leads the Farmers Insurance Open after the first round at 10-under par. He holds a one-stroke lead over the rest of the field, and the tournament remains wide open with three days remaining.

Here are my picks for Farmers Insurance Open Round 2 bets for Friday.

Farmers Insurance Open Round 2 Odds, Best Bets

Garrick Higgo Top 20 (+345 at DraftKings)

Garrick Higgo enters Friday tied for 41st at 3-under par. Despite his position on the leaderboard, he sits just two shots back of those tied for 14th.

So why is Higgo priced at +345 to finish inside the top 20 with that target range within reach? The primary reason is that he played the North Course in Thursday’s opening round, meaning he will need to play the South Course in each of the final three rounds if he makes the cut.

The South Course played significantly more difficult Thursday, with golfers averaging 0.48 over par compared with 2.86 under par on the North Course. That said, the current price appears to overadjust for that disparity, especially given that Higgo profiles well for this venue.

Greenside play is essential at the South Course. There were three measured rounds at this venue last season, as every golfer who made the cut also played the course again during the final two rounds of the weekend.

Among those golfers, each of the top five finishers ranked 26th or better in the field in strokes gained: around the green across those three rounds at the South Course. No other strokes-gained category showed a similar trend.

That bodes well for Higgo, who closed out 2025 in strong form. He finished inside the top 16 in each of his final five tournaments of the year, gaining true strokes around the green in two of the three events during that stretch in which ShotLink data was available.

Adam Scott Top 20 (+198 at DraftKings)

Another golfer who has yet to play the South Course this week is Adam Scott, who enters Friday tied for 23rd at 4-under par. He is just one shot outside the group tied for 14th and, like Higgo, is well positioned to handle the more difficult rounds at the South Course.

Scott has a strong track record at Torrey Pines, finishing inside the top 10 in each of his two career appearances at the Farmers Insurance Open. That success is not surprising, given his proficiency on approach shots from 150-175 yards.

Scott finished 2025 nearly 2% above the PGA Tour average in birdie-or-better percentage from that distance. Last year, 18.8% of approach shots at the South Course came from the 150-175-yard range, the largest share of any 25-yard grouping.
