The third round of the 2026 John Deere Classic gets underway on Saturday at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, IL.
Lucas Glover leads after the second round at 14-under par, holding a two-stroke lead over the rest of the field. However, the tournament remains wide open with two days remaining.
Here are my picks and John Deere Classic Round 3 best bets.
John Deere Classic Round 3 Best Bets
Tom Kim Top-20 (-110 at DraftKings)
Tom Kim has performed consistently well over the first two rounds. He enters Saturday T19 at seven-under par, and at -110, it's worth backing him to continue this success over the weekend.
TPC Deere Run is one of the easier courses on the PGA Tour schedule, featuring wide fairways and large greens. Because of its accessibility, two key factors stand out: wedge play and putting.
Last year, 12.9% of approach shots came from the 100-125-yard range, well above the PGA Tour average. Meanwhile, Brian Campbell and Emiliano Grillo, who battled in a playoff, both finished inside the top nine in the field in strokes gained: putting.
No other strokes-gained category showed a similar trend.
This setup makes Kim a strong candidate to back.
Entering this week, he ranks in the 87th percentile on the PGA Tour in strokes gained: approach and in the 94th percentile in strokes gained: approach from 100-150 yards.
Kim is also a strong putter, ranking in the top third of the PGA Tour in strokes gained: putting. He also enters in strong form, coming off his best finish of the year: a third-place showing at the U.S. Open against significantly tougher competition.
Andrew Putnam Top-20 (+144 at DraftKings)
Another golfer worth targeting in this market is Andrew Putnam. Tied with Kim, Putnam enters the weekend T19.
Like Kim, Putnam fits this course well.
Entering this week, he ranks in the 63rd percentile on the PGA Tour in strokes gained: approach and in the 59th percentile in strokes gained: approach from 100-150 yards. As noted, the ease of hitting greens turns this week into a putting contest.
Putnam has proven capable on the greens, ranking in the 86th percentile on the PGA Tour in strokes gained: putting.
